So when do we think he gets his first appearance and first start?

How about the derby Cup game so he can do what Virg did.

I don't think that's a good idea. I don't think you can just walk into that type of game with barely any idea of the level of passion it generates and be guaranteed to cope with it, and Everton may be a different beast by then. They'd love to rough him up a bit - just let him experience it from the stands.

Probably right. I expect he will start off with a few sub appearances in games that are sewn up to get him acclimated.

Acid Mothers Temple at Anfield tho. Think of that. Otoboke Beaver in support. Loads of bands. Or Julian Cope to organise something.

This is a fabulous signing. Gave me the willies when up against us which doesn't happen too often - not in that way anyhow - all teams have a danger man, but he was going to destroy something deep within me. So glad he's ours.*

Yokoso, Mminamino-san!

A truly inspiring player! I didn't care much about the Haaland lad, although he was OK, but Minamino was the one that caught my eye. And I was caught by surprise with his signing, didn't know things were in motion months ago... Kudos to the recruiting team!

What a great signing for the club, especially at that price that we paid for him. He really was impressive in the two games against us and I thought it was him and Hwang that looked the most exciting players. I'm glad we got him because his versatility is going to be key for us going forward.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Well, we'll just have to do with another Lucas then... Gerrard subbed, Lucas walks in- unawares of what's happening and proceeds with a calm head and we end up winning.
By all accounts- and stats that back it up- he's a workhorse in the Kuyt/Firmino mold. Hell he averages 12km per game. That's Lucas/Kuyt/Firmino levels of lung-busting insanity and that's what games like these are characterized by.

Yep- when I read that, I knew he would fit like a glove. Remains to be seen, but if our lot saw something admirable in him, I dunno- I'd take their opinion over mine?
