I think it's well believable. They want to make everyone with an Xbox have Game Pass, they also want anyone with a PC to have it. And they're going to roll XCloud in with it, to target people with even just a decent phone or tablet. Dropping that couple of quid a month to entice someone to buy an Xbox and enter into the ecosystem makes sense if that person then decides to spend a tenner a month on GP.
Xbox are making some cool moves, for sure. But it's all down to what games they show on Thursday. In the past month I've completed Horizon Zero Dawn, got 12 hours into TLOU2 so far, and have been hammering Ghost of Tsushima over the weekend. I've had an Xbox One since the day it was released in 2013 and can say with certainty that in my opinion there isn't a single Xbox exclusive of this gen that is as good as any of those 3 games I mentioned. I hope they fix that, I want two strong console lineups, but it'll take more than Halo for me.
