I'm just thinking about how mental it is when United or City start singing about us as soon as they take the lead. Would dread for us to end up like that, to care so little about your own team that your more concerned about insulting another team.

Don't know, but he acted the goat when Ox transferred to us:

And it now looks like the deal has been completed judging by a post uploaded on Instagram by Colossal Sports Management, the agency which looks after Oxlade-Chamberlain.

They posted a picture of the Liverpool crest along with the caption 'DEAL AGREED!!!! It was soon removed from the account, however.

How on earth did De Bruyne get MOTM? He had a decent game especially in the first half but Salah had a much better game.

We were by far the better team in the 2nd half and created much more chances.

The thing that summed City up for me were two incidents. Jesus went down and we played the ball out. Origi was hacked down and stayed down; City played on and nearly scored.

I’m happy with our performance but our finishing needs to improve.

I think that Sky go for a MOTM from the winning team, but they are ridiculous. Look at their player ratings, you'd think City played us out of the park...

Loads of posters on blue moon were dumbfounded as to why pool fans were booing the national anthem. The sheer level of stupidity in this country constantly astounds me.
It's strange. I always thought of Manchester as a really left wing city but it seems that most of blue moon are tories from what they were saying about it. It's a good reminder that forums like that aren't necessarily representative of the fanbase as whole.

1) It was on BT
2) He was named MOTM before the final whistle.

Hoddle said it was because he'd come back from injury. Literally, it's the reason he gave on commentary.

Missed the match. Out of curiousity, did their fans spend the whole game singing about us yet again? Or have they dropped their weird, shit rip-off of Allez Allez yet?

They were really quiet.

In and around the ground it seemed like we outnumbered them significantly. To be fair there was a lot less spaces in their end than I expected.

Hardly heard a peep out of them during the 90. Not sure if that’s because they were quiet or the sound didn’t carry.

Our end was quite subdued 1st half bar the national anthem. Last 20-30 our end was loud for a neutral end
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

rather placid 1st half but turned in on in the 2nd.

not sure that was the plan.

Looking at our midfield, its going to be pretty stacked full of options if every one stays fit. Hendo, Gini, Fab, Keita, Milly, Ox, Shaq and Lall.

Salah and Bobby look really sharp despite just coming back. And Mane also yet to return.

Season proper starts next week and hopefully 3 points.

I always thought that Rodgers' self aggrandizing dressing down of Sterling  when he must have known they were being videoed always marked out how he was unsuitable to be manager for Liverpool. Klopp would never have done that.

You think he wouldn't have done the same without the cameras, though?

I think his response was wholly appropriate and typical of a coach not brooking any interruption during a team talk. It's certainly not the worst exchange I've ever seen.

Wow that was surprising. We really played man city off the park in the 2nd half. We look ready for the season (if we do to teams what we did in the 2nd half).

Salah should have really scored against the hologram claudio but you know what ? i prefer our 1st trophy of the season to be european.

Salah couldn't finish, everyone was misdirecting  the ball, it kept going wide of the keepers left.
If only we were more clinical up front.

It happens sometimes - A bit more sharpness and we'd have won by a few goals. I think it shows what we all know - City can be got at - especially when their players start to tire in the second half - the problem last season was not many teams had a go against them and tried to grind them down. City will make mistakes when you press them eventually but how many teams are willing to commit men forward?

Not too fussed about the result. All I wanted to see was the true reds turn up, and we did second half. Would play them again this Wednesday if we could and I would be more than confident of getting the result. Excluding the pens, we finished the game so much stronger than them so I'm happy.

Did a good article in GQ where he was very respectful and more glowing about his time with us than his time at city

Agree with most of that. Sterling deserves a bit more credit though - he’s a really good player. And he’s being really clever going on the charm offensive with Liverpool supporters, taking pics and shit. It’s clearly a conscious move so that he gets less aggro from supporters in games against us. Give it up Raz - we know your game you little rat ;D

Can’t believe it all starts this fri ... wouldn’t have minded an extra week away from it all. Definitely too much football these days
youre probably right mate. I do feel like I'm missing something when I watch him, I just can't believe that one of their key attacking players can still be so utterly awful when through on goal. You look at the likes of Sane and Silva who he's kept out of the team at different points and technically they both look miles ahead of him.

Sterling is a well better player than Sane. Technically Sane might be better but as all round packages you'd easily have Sterling ahead of him. Tactically he is well better than Sane. Tenacity and will to win he's well better than Sane. Defensively he works so much harder than Sane. That's the reason Sane doesn't get picked regularly by any manager and why Sterling does. Sane is a 80-100M player because of his technical ability and promise that he'll add the other components to his game . Sterling would be 200M on the open market because he's all round better and more productive player.

To be honest I think Sterling and Bernardo Silva are City's best players. Them 2 are at the level of Mane and Salah. The likes of Mahrez, Sane, Jesus aren't. Leroy Sane is probably in the 3 most talented players in City's squad. But as an all round player he'd be lucky to make Top 10 in their squad.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.
