Bad toss to lose that. Reckon in these conditions we'd be looking at 350+ first up...

I've basically not taken an interest in cricket since Tendulkar retired. What has the BCCI done!?

I think the whole fanbase culture is an Asian thing though. Very quick to turn their backs on someone for failing which is a shame. I actually think it's fairly common but as a football fanbase we (LFC) seem to generally not be that bad.

Complete opposite reaction to yesterday's loss though. Almost everything I've read has been positive about the team and our WC journey. Massive shame that we couldn't win it, considering we have the best batsman and bowler in the world, but the Kiwis deserved it yesterday. I was a bit worried that Dhoni would be torn to pieces but almost everywhere he's been praised for providing support, though questions have to be asked of Shastri and Kohli for not promoting him up the order.

Anyway, 2nd semi-final today and Australia batting first. Hope they put up a 350+ score today, will be interesting to see England's batting chase that.
Mark my words. Top 8 will be a massive struggle.
We won't make any big signings this season and we will go back to being a top4 club.

Average first innings score at Edgbaston (only 4 games so far) is 282 for this WC.

Ah bollocks. It’s been tough chasing for everyone in this World Cup. England need a big bowling and fielding performance here.  Need to get their lines and lengths right, hold every catch and get direct hits from their throws.

Anything close to 300 is going to be extremely difficult to chase.

I'm generalizing but their fans tend to be entitled, whining crybabies most of the time.
I'll say!

I get the desire to see India lose, as supporting the underdog is very popular in this country, but maybe I'm missing something as I don't find the Indian players irritating at all (apart from Ashwin's Mankad of Buttler in the IPL). Ok, perhaps Jadeja can be a bit much, but there's always one.

What can be irritating about Kohli (and perhaps that can go for the Indian team as a whole) is more the sycophancy that surrounds him rather than his abrasiveness, personally. The fire that he has tends to make the game a better watch and he doesn't exactly take it to the levels of Warner in the South Africa series, does he? The main thing I care about is how much he values Test cricket, as his influence is huge.

I genuinely cannot wait for this game.. It's what the last few years of limited overs cricket has all been about.

I don't draw comparisons between sports because that usually just doesn't work.

Anyhoo. We're having to bowl. That's probably fucked it.

So why do you hate them?
I'm an equal opportunity hater in cricket - hate India, England and Australia (Australia gets a bit more) - those 3 have sewn up the ICC and run it like a personal fiefdom - games are scheduled that favour those three in terms of top class engagement leaving the rest of us (SA, New Zealand, Sri Lanka) to scrabble about for competitive cricket.

So any time one of those 3 get beaten it's a big cheer from me

It's hard to dislike Indian cricket. So many wonderful players over the years, from elegant or savage batsmen to beguiling spinners and the odd deadly paceman. I love the way the whole country has embraced the game too. Imagine world cricket without India! It would be a puny thing.

So pleased they fell short yesterday though.

Terrible. Finch made out like it hit his bat first and Warner obviously wasn't paying attention to what happened.

Surely if Finch thought it was bat first there would have been absolutely no hesitation.. It's the non striker that cost them that review.

Well with no review now it'd be nice if at least one of the sandpaperers gets given LB to one clearly missing the stumps.
