International football needs to be abolished.
If that's not on the table could we please not have half of our players crippled against some third tier outfits.

Also possibly a good chance for some fringe players like Shaq, Origi and Keita to pick up some valuable minutes.

Barney think Senegal schedule is a little less punishing

Is the second of theirs a friendly too by the way?

Where's the neutral location for the Panama game our Brazilian lads have got to go to?

Cheers, at least they're not travelling too much for their two games then.

The biggest worry has to be Mane. Our in form player and has been injured a few times whilst on international duty.

You’d hope there’d be some common sense given they’ve qualified and the second match is a friendly

Hopefully. Their manager has form for playing Mane loads. Think he played almost a full 90 once in a friendly when they were winning and he pulled a hamstring near the end.

Keita was not selected for Guinea as they qualified which is the same as Salah(who was not included on the list)

I'm guessing Hendo will pull out, surely he won't be fit for their games?

Fingers crossed for our lads esp the Brazilians n Mane. Good job we are playing Sunday and not Sat after they get back.

Hopefully Klopp withdraws most of our players.  We clearly have a range of ailments ranging from dodgy toenails and tight muscles to the start of the sniffles.  Bobbie hasn’t had his teeth polished in a while and it is clearly affecting his game.   On a more serious note Trent certainly needs a rest.  Nothing worse than our season being derailed by injuries sustained in pointless international games.

Robertson is missing the scotland game vs Kazakhstan

That's good news. That trip to Kazakhstan looked like a problem for his fatigue.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

So Lovren who hasn't played for us since Jan goes off but Stones who has missed two weeks and been on bench in those two weeks is pulled on the back of this...

Stones on the back of this:

Great news on Robertson.
"Since its purchase by the sheikh of Abu Dhabi, Manchester City has managed to cheat its way into the top echelon of European football and create a global, immensely profitable football empire, ignoring rules along the way. The club's newfound glory is rooted in lies."

He needs minutes though.

Yes, but not 180 minutes in 3 days after coming from an injury. Hopefully his manager has some sense regarding this.

On a general note, happy with Robertson missing one game - one of those who needs rest, and with Salah and Keita not selected - with Salah needing rest and Keita just coming back from injury. Not happy with Mane's selection though - he needs a rest, could do with a game's rest at least and certainly not happy with Henderson's call-up, he was just withdrawn within 20 minutes the previous midweek, makes no sense to call him up at all.

At least Lallana wasn't called up by Southgate.

Personally, I think it's great if Lovren gets a couple of games under his belt. Matip and Van Dijk have obviously done a good job together, but if Matip were to get injured (not going to speculate on the other one getting injured) we'd need Lovren to be ready to play. Sure, all that time in training will help him, but genuine match play will do even more.

Even if there's no further injuries at cb this season, there may be games where we want to do a bit of rotation as we go deep into two competitions.

1st casualty: Shaq is out of Switzerland duty with a groin injury.

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool/liverpool-midfielder-xherdan-shaqiri-ruled-out-of-switzerland-qualifiers-through-injury-a4095081.html

Hopefully that's Klopp telling him to pull a sickie in return for guaranteed minutes.
Will the players have joined up with their squads yet? Surely he won't have got that injury with Switzerland?

Apparently "the player suffers from inflammation in the pubic area", so no groin injury. Perhaps an ingrown hair on the bollocks?  ;D
