No, I'm not. It's basic maths. If we lose the Leicester game, how many points ahead are we?

So we drop 3 points to Leicester, and we can still drop 3 more. That's 6. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's favourite number.

If City win all their remaining games, we can drop 6 points. So 39 from the 45 remaining. That's 2.6ppg. Currently we're on 2.61ppg. So we just need to keep doing our thing. No small feat since we've been excellent so far to get to 2.61ppg, but easier than City's current scenario, in which they might have to win every game and still not have any guarantee that they'd win the league.

There's a long way to go, and although I'm confident we'll do it, it doesn't feel like 2013/14. I was bullish and excited a long way out that season. This year I just want points on the board. If we can be on 75 points in the next five or six games then I might start to get my head turned, but right now I just want to quietly enjoy the season.

(And just because I have the numbers in front of me: City are on 2.33ppg, which is about 33 points from their 42 remaining if they stay at the same rate - 88 or 89 total. If they don't raise their game soon, our job's going to look a lot easier.)
I think the different feeling between this season and that one is reflected in the teams. That season it was gung-ho, swashbulking, bombastic, we were enjoying the unexpected ride. This season the team is more steely determination, much calmer, and just more focused. The calmer and better back five doesn't hurt either.

It'll be mine too at the end of this season.

Yup just keep going one game at a time, do our job and keep winning. As much as its nice to celebrate City losing i would much rather celebrate us winning tomorrow as city losing today is pointless today if we do not capitalize

Lets go boys
It’s not pointless

It’s not pointless

Yeah people are weird on this point including the media... we're in front - they have to catch us.
Every game they don't win is a chance gone for them to do that and the games run out.
If we draw tonight - for example - everyone's heads will fall off, and yet we'll still be decent favourites to win the league

Not saying people are getting ahead of themselves, but there are no hotel rooms left in Liverpool on May 12th.

Shame that lad knocked over the new travelodge.
A load of us always stay up after the last home league game every season. Did our usual and booked it months ago, £11.50 each at a Travelodge in town  :)

The next 11 days feels huge. It could be a case of the gap closing and nerves returning or else something significant could happen.

If we win our 3 games, City simply MUST win theirs. It all starts tonight of course and I am nervous as hell!

Really?  Ok that changes things then.

It's been that long since I've taken notice I just assumed it was presented when it was won.

Fancy having to wait weeks to get your hands on it!!

In my heyday we won the league one year with four-five games to go, I think we then lost every game after that.

The crowd in the stadium is really going to have to help the boys manage the games. They need to treat them like champions League semi finals and make Anfield a cauldron of noise. I'm getting a sense that the anxiety is spreading down to the players.

We never take advantage when the opportunity arises though, same shit all the time when we are in this position.

Easy to say from home but the crowd will have to play their part.

Thought the atmosphere was shocking & anxiety spread to the players.

5 points ahead is still an improvement though a missed opportunity.

Gonna be a tough one.

It's still an unexpected bonus point. A 5 point gap is much harder to close than a 4 point gap in a 3/pts for a win system.

It could be the point that wins us the league.

That's a point gained not 2 lost. Awful performance and result matched it IMO. We just looked really slow in the build up - no cutting edge.

The positive is that we have increased our lead to 5 points now so would rather be 5 in front than 5 behind. On to the next game.
