He is my King, my inspiration, my totem. He represents everything good about our city and our club. Like Bob Paisley, he exemplifies greatness, yet remains humble and grounded.

I don't have the words to express what Kenny Dalglish has meant to me over the years. I am so pleased that the country has finally recognised what we have always known, but there isn't an honour on the planet, or even conceived among the various presidents, potentates and monarchs that can do justice to the man.

Except, perhaps, being our King of the Kop.

Thank you Kenny, for everything you have meant to me, and so many others.

I can't be arsed with all that lords and ladies nonsense, but I'm delighted for Kenny and his family. No doubt he'll accept it with good grace and humility because that's the kind of man he is.
With this, the stand naming and the recent documentary, it's great to see him get the respect and recognition he deserves.

Newspapers will say that Kenny has been elevated to a knighthood. Nonsense. The status of knighthood has been elevated by having Kenny as a member.

Anyway, Kenny and Marina will always be the King and Queen of Merseyside. Anything else is secondary.

As a child, he was my greatest hero. I complained to my parents that they had not named me Kenny.

As I became an adult, I learned the more grown up version of heroism from the King.

At all times, he has been a shining beacon, the pride of Scotland, Merseyside, the LFC family, the wider football family, his own family. No-one talks of him in tones which do not ooze the greatest respect.

Thoroughly overdue, a national treasure and a hero of our times.

I just wanted to say that. Very pleased.
