So, they've recalculated how many people are now going to qualify.

Now they only need to do the ballot and send out the emails.

It's been done. Says on the website.

Liverpool FC can confirm that the Champions League final ticket ballot has now taken place and fans will be notified today via email if they have been successful.

Due to more than 1,500 additional tickets being made available as a result of initial sales to priory rights holders and hospitality members, fans now have a one-in-three chance of being successful to purchase a ticket.

Supporters who are successful in the ballot can purchase their tickets online only from 8.15am BST on Monday May 14 until 8am BST on Tuesday May 15.

The full breakdown of the ticket allocation can be viewed here.

Full details of the selling process are available here.

I reckon this is likely what's causing the hold up. They're probably searching for the abacus right now to rejig all the figures.

The results of the Basel ballot two years ago came out between 1-2pm. So this is late by those standards. As above I reckon it's the extra 1,500 that's causing the hold up.

Don’t see how it would really! Normally what happens is the ones who aren’t successful are on a waiting list if any left. So all you do is move that on by 1500. Can’t be that hard surely ??!

Emails are en route. You will receive communication as to whether you were successful or not.If it’s the latter, you will be placed on a waiting list with a number attached to your application.Apologies for the delay. The addition of more tix has added complexity to the process

Why would it cause more issue? Just give the extra tickets to the first people in the waiting list. It's not rocket science.

Not in the ballot myself, but have followed this thread the whole day. That's the kind of tweet that should have come out some time during the day from a PR perspective. Just tell people that there will be more tickets available and that that is causing a slight delay with the ballot. Everyone is happy...

I don’t know the inner workings of LFC.

But it jjust seems to me like nobody is empowered to do any comms.

Shouldn’t take the ceo having to do it.

Just empower some people with a bit of trust and train or recruit them.

They seem so arsed about the brand and the message they forget the actual normal comms and end up doing damage anyway.

11am. Hi all. Sorry there is a slight delay. Further update at 2pm. Keep it simple.

I'd be amazed if they aren't making twice the margin on each ticket knowing they can..Our club doesn't do enough in these things.

Not rocket science but we knew how many tickets we were allocated a while back, everybody needs to get there somehow so enough planes should have been sourced BEFORE leaving it this late and then rushing around trying to find more planes, complete farce from the start.

I agree, but I am still amazed at why UEFA chose Kiev.
Just looking at trains from other major eastern european cities, like Warsaw, krakow, Bucharest, Budapest take a full day to get there, so there are almost no options but to fly at what are now crazy marked up prices.
