Wow I didn't expect such a sharp performance. If that one shot went in I would have celebrated like we'd just won the league! He's some player and you can see it even though he's been out for so long he's still making great runs with the ball and generally looked so dangerous. Such a great moment when he came on as well.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

It was a great moment. When I think back to the start of the season, the general consensus seemed to be "you just don't come back the same player" after an injury like that and I genuinely felt gutted for him. I had a hope that he would be back and just as good but it just seemed forlorn. Call me an old fool but I almost had a tear in my eye when he came on tonight. Bloody brilliant.

Steady as she goes as we don’t want to push too hard.  However, bloody great cameo son!

PS. Keep the 1st June free in your diary because you have a very important role to play, trust me.

Watching him play a give and go with someone and then sprinting in behind the Huddersfield defense was really encouraging, it doesn't look like he's lost any of that speed.

You could tell he was taking it easy when changing direction but hopefully as he grows in confidence he'll get that mobility back.

I've just been thinking about Ox and I realised just how much admiration and respect I have for him. That injury for him wasn't an isolated thing as he's had problems with injuries at Arsenal so it must be the most horrible thing to constantly have these setbacks. Yet whenever I see him he always seems so happy and positive. To keep that kind of mentality when he has so much reason to be negative is an incredible thing. He's also helped young Brewster with his recovery as well. When he came on today, it was a moment that can only be achieved through sheer hard work and willpower. That makes me respect him immensely.

Bit shit when he came on, if we're being honest here. Needs to sort himself out if he's going to get in our team. Easy chance squandered and at the end of the day, you can't be shitting out of tackles like that all the time. Bar that lot, not bad, for a seems like a new signing kinda player.

He'll probably show up for englandettere.

He walks funny as well.

Had forgotten how intelligent he is with the ball. Always making defenders make tough decisions as he runs at them with the ball, should they go to him and let him pass to the forward line or let him continue on and get into a shooting position? Glad to see that he seems to still have his athleticism but we'll know a lot more once the adrenaline of returning wears off and he gets a full pre-season.

I was thinking along similar lines.  Nevile/Caragher was talking on SKY how Klopp turned good players in to elite ones and how he was much more than the motivator of popular opinion.  I was thinking it must be something in the selection procedure that looks for character as well as ability.
Alex Oxlaid could easily settle for less, get fit (enough) and make very good living playing football but it's not how he his . Presumably, like the front three mentioned in the punditry, they could all have settled for being very well paid footballers with money, fame and recognition but they need something more. I dunno, i'm sure all top sportsmen are in it for more than the trappings but there is something extra special about our lot, about klopps players.

What was massively encouraging was how sharp and quick he looked. We didn't really see him full on sprint but it's doesn't seem to be like when Lucas came back and his acceleration had just gone, you know?

Yep, I think we historically eulogise about some of our players too easily, but just watching how Ox imposed himself on the game yesterday effortlessly made a massive statement. He seemed to glide Hazard style with the ball.

Can't wait to see more of him.

Great to see him back on the pitch. Amazed to see him jump straight in to the pace of last nights game and not look at all out of place. A big first step and really positive signs that he can be as good as before.

So my dream of him lifting #6 this year is still alive. Totally see him being handed the armband at the bottom of the steps. That's just the kind of team klopp has created.
