Need to say something about that clip. I disagree that Trump asks questions to force people to think outside the box. That’s giving him too much credit. He is just lacking knowledge. Because he is the President, people assume he is clever, that there is some hidden meaning when he asks a question.
There is nothing wrong with asking questions, but does Trump learn from it? No. He is making mistake after mistake. Basic errors. So what does he do? He asks questions to find weaknesses. Very much like when he is at one of those rallies. In those he says something and reads the reaction from his crowd. Then he goes with what works. All the time when given information, he does this. He attacks what’s in front of him. When people run out of answers, he wins. Or so he thinks. It makes him look competent, but it’s so hollow. Reverse that, ask him questions, and he will be all over the place.
Example of how this would work: ”Why don’t you take out Putin? Can’t you do it? Is he evil? If he’s evil, why don’t we do it? He is not on our side, is he? So he is evil, right? Isn’t he dangerous?” One could ask five hundred questions like that. Eventually people will hesitate and Trump would then say let’s do it. Without understanding the consequences, without caring about them. So people would protest. And then he’d call people defensive, they lack courage, they are not willing to follow orders, they are bound by stupid rules, they are stuck in the past, they are working against him etc. For any normal person, the very first question is seen as stupid and that’s enough. Not for Trump.
