I'm all for extending the draft but I think we should decide on a squad cap as well. Would be fun if this game world would be one where money actually mattered.

Squad cap always gets my vote in SM. Always seems to make more transfer activity than in a world without.

I am fine with both 11 and 15 picks.

Squad of 40 should be implemented.

I d be up for 21. 15 is only an extra 4 players. Would be great if the whole initial squad was from a draft. But happy to go with the majority.

I'd planned on the basis of 11 but am happy to do 15 (or more)

First match is on Sunday, and the unmanaged teams need to be relinquished at some point. Have a feeling something unexpected might happen when we get to within 24 hours of the first fixture, with Soccer Manager panicking to fill up squads, even if they're still managed by the dummy accounts. Could possibly lead to them bidding for players we've drafted but have not yet had a bid accepted for.

With that in mind I'm happy to continue to 15 and beyond as long as we're done by Saturday.

I'll need a proxy too for the next few days as work returns with a vengeance!

Edit: and yeah wanted to implement squad cap at some point, 40 now would be grand, and save a ball ache down the road.

Are people sure there has to be a 21 man squad. How does sm fill the remaining numbers if there's no money left say?

Also for 15, or 21. or whatever.

Not sure.

Presumably they bid for the cheapest possible players, those in the £1-20k bracket, with a little chairman's cash injection to keep you out of debt.

That was my worry in terms of SM AI doing some crazy stuff. I'm happy to do 15 as long as people were confident that we'd be done by Friday ish.

Think we've done well to get to this point relatively quickly and easily, hope it can continue as people go back to graft. I know i missed mine today.

Will buy them the required no. of 100k players, and put the club in red.

For some reason I thought the first fixtures were on the 6th! Which doesn't even make sense as that's a Friday  ;D At the current rate (3 rounds a day give or take) we can easily reach 15+ players each by Friday.

I can take over your proxy if you like, should speed things up as well.

Once the 11 is done we can reduce the time between picks right down. We could easily get 6-7 players done in a day.

Don't mind taking your picks as well, don't want to end up in a situation where you've all given me the same names but it should be alright given you're at opposite ends of the selection order.

How does making money work?

I assume all teams have the same opportunity to have the same ground capacity?

What's the prize money for winning things?

Grand, thanks for that. Expect a big list to hit you any moment.  ;D

Some will get bigger incomes from having bigger grounds. Though your stadium gets bigger the more stuff you win. I think it varies across worlds, but maybe something like £40m for winning the top division and £10m for a cup approx. The economy of the world is set to 'strong' so we all should be good.

Guys, had a thought. The Belgrade manager isn't taking part in the draft, extending beyond 11 players is going to leave him at a bit of a disadvantage, and a small window in which to bid for his players.

How about I tell him he can start bidding once we've all drafted our 11? Will inevitably be a bit of cross over with people bidding for the same player, but otherwise he'll probably end up with a stinker of a team.

What was his reason  for not being part of the draft?
I sent him a message originally asking him to take on a team solely to stop bidding from the a.i. He said he wasn't interested in a draft due to not being around much and not on rawk either but that he might hang around in the world when the draft is done.
I don't know if Card Cheat pm'd him

We should do the draft as normal up to 11 picks, and then have a hour window from 11 picks onwards, up to 15, or 21 even if we shift

If he wants to take part then let him buy 11 players without competition once we have done our 11 maybe? Give him a time limit though. Then we go back drafting.

Fair enough. Card Cheat should fill him in. He'd have to make sure he's not bidding on players picked in the draft that haven't been bid on yet though

You don't have to bid on them now to select them. You can select them and bid whenever. James has been picked. You want Lucas Moura?
