11 or whenever your money runs out and you have to go for frees. Whichever happens first, no transfer funds then you can't draft really.

Although that does raise the question of someone going hard early and then scooping up frees.

Might be an idea to allow people to be going for frees now?? At the same time?? What do we think lads?

As far as I know, if any teams squad is lower than the minimum 20 on the day of the first game then Soccer Manager will fill the squad up to the minimum with free agents (presumably the cheapest)

I say hold off on the frees until the draft is over, shouldn't make too much of a difference really. Though feel free to have a free agent as your normal draft pick, bit risky maybe, Rui Patricio and Sporting players are available.

Finally back online. Bit mad that we're starting this over new year to be honest. I'm in an incredibly remote area with barely any wifi and even then it goes off after 5 minutes sometimes! I see we have a zillion new managers since I've been away too  :o  I was going to slide down to division 3, but the top division is looking a lot of fun now so I'll stick with Depor. Will make my pick now.

Ey.

Thats my excuse when Iam travelling.

Youl start blaming your phone next .

Same as normal. You're free to bid on who you like after the first 11 players have been drafted. (if you don't bid for anyone, Soccer Manager will automatically fill your squad upto 20) So we'll all have normal-ish sized squads. I'm aiming for about 25 for Dukla Prague.

Yep, there's a cup but no shield.

That's the first round done!

Back down in reverse order. 1 hour between picks if everyone's good with that?

With maybe an evening cut-off point given tonight's game and New Year.

Oops!

No way I was passing on Messi in round 2 though. Thanks Lawnmo  ;D

Edit: Forest are trying to pinch the bearded Argentinian God from under Dresden's noses....any chance one of those spoof accounts can block the transfer? Noticed Velez bidding for someone as well.

Back to 1 hour intervals at 12pm tomorrow. Very unlikely you'll have to make any picks before then.

Thorgan Hazard btw? Interesting strategy!  ;D

Though if you're on nights it'd be best to pass a list onto one of us in case you miss your window.

How do transfers work after the initial 11 that are drafted?

Is it first come first served? and you have to pay the market price?

Auction?

Combination of the two really, just a big free-for-all.

When the last person has made their 11th pick, we'll agree on a time for it to begin. I'm just gonna sling out bids everywhere and see what comes in.

Free for all bidding war. You can either pay market price for players noone else is after, or enter a bidding war where the highest bid wins. In the case of equal highest bids, the player goes to PSV  ;D

If you've bid for a player (or have them shortlisted) and then someone else bids, you'll get a notification on SM. Bidding period on SM seems to last anywhere between 18-24 hours. So if someone puts a bid in, the rest of us have 18-24 hours to pounce if we so desire.

If you search for a player and open up his page, you can see which teams are bidding for him. If you've bid on a player you'll get a notification if someone else bids, as JSteve says. You can also shortlist players if you want to receive notifications for him, but that's probably not a good idea until the draft's over!

It's going to be crazy, but OK.

Careful not bidding on too many players getting them and then going over budget.
