5' the ball is up and down the pitch, we are putting some pressure and the game looks open. Nice control from Firmino for a run in and his first attempt at goal with a soft shot.

Stevie G. Is at Anfield

If anyone wondered whether Lallana would be missed, the second game without him should leave us no doubt that we do.

16 nice save by Karius  after a shot from Pienaar. Following play Defoe manages to get the ball only to be punched (the ball) and cleared by Karius,  not that it matters much as they were offside.

Sunderland were two on one there - well played by Karius coming out, making himself big, and blocking the shot from Pienaar.

The Can-Wij-Hendo three, all seem to do the same thing for me. We're dominating, but Lallana was so much more effective.

34' - Sunderland have played their plan to perfection and gotten the bonus of having one of our key playmakers taken out of the game. We are struggling to break them down and they have had a couple of semi dangerous breaks into our half

35' - this ref is terrible! Origi clearly fouled, ref waves on. 30s later fouled again and Hendo takes the FK - what a good ball in, Lovren heads it across and nearly gets in the right hand corner

38' - We're looking more positive but still not able to break through.

Milner with a run down the left, lofts it in, but it's easily pushed out.

Klopp not looking impressed - Moyes on the other hand, is animated

Now Firmino makes something out of nothing on the left of the box, but again, we cannot get through the 11 in the box

45' - Moyes boys defending for their lives - another ball in and Can just heads it wide.

Bobby with a stunning steal off Sunderland in the midfield but we can't capitalise on it.

4' added on

45+2' - Lovren with a 30 yard screamer that is well wide

Wrong decisions made all over the pitch by Liverpool. Slow to move feet, crosses to an empty box.

45+3' - 80% possession - another ball in, Origi sharp but cannot get it through.

Now a chance falls to Mane but no power on the shot and the GK stops it easily

That's the whistle

Frustrating half
