Underestimate us you fucking cheating wankers.

They have fluked their way to the final. Our 'average' midfield will press them all the way back up Uefa's corrupt arseholes.

Most entitled bunch of pricks on the planet. I want 'average' Milner to bang in one from 30 yards and celebrate with a cup of peppermint tea, and give tap-in boy a soggy biscuit.

Commentators in Brazil hate saying his name. For a start there is effectively no W in the Portuguese language. So they pronounce it V instead. Then it just goes downhill from there due the distinct lack of vowels where they would want them :D

You guys are clueless. Sorry, sure you're lovely lads, but was very good today. Not Wijnaldums fault that we've lost all of our midfielders that break lines.

Retained the ball, defended well, covered acres.

Honestly, utterly clueless anyone saying he's not a very good player.

He was ok? I guess he wasn't terrible, but he has zero confidence in his passing ability. He refused to pass a ball between defenders into one of the forward's feet. Our tempo was miles better once Henderson came on.

you ended that sentence prematurely. I'll finish it.

... once Henderson came on and Wijnaldum continued to play in the same position as before with Henderson in front of him.

Which begs the question, why did tempo improve if Wijnaldum's role didn't change?

But...........for next season, for teams who sit back, we need better options in midfield.

The real problem is that this comment works for almost all our midfielders. They're very similar and thrive in the same type of games. 30% Gini types in the midfield squad is ok, but not 90%

You still aren't seeing it. Watch the game again and look and see what the difference is in terms of Gini on the ball with Trent & Milner in midfield vs second half.

I'll give you a clue - 1st half we couldn't play through midfield. We didn't have one. We had split center backs, Gini with them and 4 full backs. Asking Gini to play vertical passes through a midfield of only Chelsea shirts is tactically stupid. We lose the ball, we are overloaded in the middle. Our only option was to keep going around Chelsea, every time. Which made us very predictable and easy to control.

Reason for timing?
On the 59th minute, Trent moved to right back when Clyne came off.
On the 74th minute, Milner moved to left back when Robertson came off.

Henderson had more touches in the center of midfield than Trent & Milner combined in just ~30 minutes on the pitch. He played the position like a central midfielder. Finally Gini had someone in front of him in midfield, so he could play the ball into midfield. Before that, he couldn't. So he didn't.

Do you actually understand the role he was playing today? A no.6 should not be taking his opponent on. Limited opportunities for a vertical pass. Lose possession in either attempt and the gates are open for a counter. We had to round and TAA and Robertson were understandably leggy in any attempt to overlap. You guys are looking for a scapegoat or you fail to understand the role of a no.6 against a low block team. Can we improve on personnel in that position - the answer would be Yes  but to lay the blame at his door where the problem was elsewhere- that is scapegoating.

100% - Georginio Wijnaldum (@GWijnaldum) completed 61 passes v Chelsea, the highest tally with a 100 percent accuracy in a PL game for a Liverpool player since Opta collect detailed PL data (2003/04). Reinvention.

Utter nonsense.

A million miles from anonymous.

What was anonymous was us having a midfielder who could break through lines, and create in tight spaces. Mainly because we sold one and our other two options are injured.

Go on Nige hat did he do ?

Protected the defence, through intelligent use of the ball and his brilliant use/positioning of his body.

Competed throughout the game, pressing, harassing and forcing Chelsea players into mistakes and bad passes.

Broke forwards a fair few times in the first half, especially in the inside left Channel and was trying to work the ball into Mane, and Robertson down that side.

Passed well, and consistently, retaining possession as we built attacks and trying to bring full backs and attackers into the game when needed.

Worked his nuts off.

So what did he do going forward?

I've told you some already.

Maybe I should write it in simpler terms?

Edit, plus, as Baby and Nico have both said, and I originally gave you benefit of the doubt for, you don't appear to grasp the role he was playing, and are actually blaming him for  not being Lallana/Ox/Keita/Coutinho
