I wonder if Klopp might try and persuade Mane to miss the AFCON? I know it might seem a long shot but that's a vital part of our season and around the period where you really need numbers, so it will hurt us. He persuaded Karius to miss the Olympics and just wonder whether he might try to do the same with Sadio.

Don't think he would, nor that he should.

We would have been aware of the AFCON situation when we signed Mane, it's something we're just going to have to manage. If Mane were to choose to miss the tournament entirely of his own accord then that's another story but no one at the club should ask him to do so.

Mentioned this in another thread but the squad needs another pacey wide man who can deliver (Ojo isn't there yet). If Mane is out for a while, then there's a big gap to fill offensively and his workrate will be sorely missed too.

Why not wait until we know more before worrying about the psychological impact of injuries?

Scans can come back negative, it might turn out to be nothing serious. It's concerning to hear things like this but it's a bit early to lose our heads pannicking just yet.
