Bobby is one of the most under-estimated players in the league. I'd say that most other fans are not aware of his incredible skill and workrate. He fits the Klopp template perfectly; in fact I think Klopp said that he had been tracking him for a long time (implying that he would have signed him).

Would have been a key element to him coming having Bobby here. Arguably the breaker. Certainly a huge bonus. Talks a bit about it here:

Excellent little article.  Glad Bobby got rid of that ridiculous top knot mind. ;D

Also thought this was a great image of Jurgen about to go Super Saiyan.

Jürgen Klopp does not adapt to English Football.  English Football adapts to Jurgan Klopp.

A lot of good points and agreed with all of it... so in a roundabout way we've agreed that average players CAN see 5 moves deep and still be average ;D

Slightly flippant of me, but the key is 'every now and then'. I don't count openings in this as most will have a good few moves learned, tried and tested etc, but a flurry of activity after the initial moves can be worked out and reasonably quickly. I play bullet/blitz chess (not the proper stuff) and I can see a couple of exchanges... a shift... 3 possible responses to that shift (1 being good, the other better for me and the last option losing), then a response to the good one, then the follow up no problem. That kind of thing... patches of play. It's being able to see the bigger picture that I'm pretty clueless at ... and as Sangria says above... learning how to play the endgame is probably vital in knowing how to go about your openings/middle game etc. This doesn't however mean that Bobby is average. The Firmino Bobby that is.

Always up for a chat about chess :wave

Another key to having this skill up my sleeve is that it has no bearing whatsoever on whether I win the game or not (usually).

 ;D

Yep mate. I think we should get into the chess thread and have our fun there  :)

I don't get the NOTM awards... To me, a completely unbiased viewer, Dani Alves was the MOTM, Firmino came close with his work rate, assist and a goal, and they gave it to Jesus...  I thought that even Coutinho did better than Jesus.

Agree 100%. Firmino will never get the recognition. He left the country a nobody. Jesus was a star in Brazil first. That makes all the difference.

Didn't see much of the game, but he Jesus did really well for Bobby's goal and also was very flashy to set up the Coutinho chance. Those are the things people remember, I guess.

A big deal was made of him scoring one goal and supplying the assist for Firmino. Well Firmino also scored one goal and supplied an assist for Gabriel's goal!

The article highlighted among others that Klopp thinks that Firmino can not only play in any position in the forward line, but that he can also play the #8 position as well. That would free us up to sign Mbappe or Ousmane Dembele and to push Firmino into midfield - imagine a trident of Salah, Mbappe and Mane in front of Firmino! That would terrify all other teams in not just the premiership but Europe...

Yeah, but his no-look goal per game ratio is declining. Not good enough.
Declining? It's been completely eradicated from his last game... Worrisome that.

Glad to see that he’s tearing it up for Brazil too.

Ridiculous. No wonder Messi likes him; the same Messi who thinks that James "The Donkey" Milner is taking him down for revenge on a nutmeg years ago instead of trying to win a CL semi-final. This football ego bullshit culture is nonsense and I'm glad it's nowhere near our team.
