Out of interest, to those who follow the bundesliga and especially dortmund... What went wrong for Klopp in his last season as their manager ?
Tons of injuries, his best players players poached by Bayern, and other teams got accustomed to his style.

Ancelotti has a fantastic CV and experience, but he comes across as a bit of a "luxury" manager where he'd need to have a bundle of talented players at his disposal in order to succeed rather than start from the ground up.
this might be true. I think Klopp is one of the best right now and getting the maximum out of his players.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Ancelotti's last job where he didn't have to work with financial constraints and make a team larger than the sum of its parts was Parma in 1996 till 1998.

Since then he managed teams where his main job was massaging the big star's egos and making sure they co-exist as a team, Klopp's Dortmund on the other hand, always over performed whether domestically or continentally except his last season.

Finished at the age of 26. The Mike Tyson of football.

Seriously just watch all of this interview. That laugh of his. He's brilliant  ;D

Great charisma and energy. He would absolutely lift this club.

Of course you need the managing credentials to go with that and he sure has that.

What worries me with Klopp, is that his style may not fir our current players.

Whoever we hire, I expect a lot of departures from now and to the end of the summer transfer window in 2016.
Apart from Mignolet and Skrtel not sure which player his style won't suit .q

He also wanted by Benteke 2-3 years back but priced out by Villa as well

Not very interested in who it turns out to be, mostly since I'm pretty sure it will not be one of the obvious strong candidates but more likely a DeBoer or someone similar. Klopp is such an obvious candidate, looks like a tailor made solution to what we need and not just on the pitch, but in general. We'll see...hope we don't wait long for the resolution.

Liverpool may not be on the same financial footing as City, Chelsea or United, but I'd say we are easily above Spurs and only a little below Arsenal.  Our commercial side is far more powerful than it was 10 years ago for example.  I'm confident we can compete for top quality players who aren't interested in selling their souls to the highest bidder.

I can just see the headline: Kop Cops Klopp!  ;D

On the other hand, Mourhino might resign tomorrow....  :o

Well given the choice let it be Klopp, and lets see him lose it with Ayre,

Klopp is manic and maybe we need an intense nutter in charge to sort out the club.

Out of interest, to those who follow the bundesliga and especially dortmund... What went wrong for Klopp in his last season as their manager ?

Injuries, loss of key players, terrible finishing, poor purchases by the DoF.

With that said, they turned it around after the winter break and Klopp resigned on good terms.

Klopp would be the better fit in my view for a long-term project. His work at Dortmund with younger players demonstrates that. As great as Ancelotti is, he hasn't really a track record of developing younger players. Most of the teams he have worked with have been wealthy clubs with older players that are designed to win immediately (Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, Milan)

Comparing our situation to last time makes me grin with optimism
Being linked to Klopp and Ancelotti vs Martinez and Rodgers is a great situation to be in.

He and ancelloti are almost polar opposites in character....

Do we need nutter or Nutella (smooth and tasty)?

I have no idea...

Maybe Carlo has a reputation for combining world superstars into a team... We don't have those, so maybe klopp?

Who knows.  I will miss Brendan though

The statement by FSG proves the new man is already in place.

"......this change gives us the best opportunity......"
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Any reason?

Cons for Klopp are that his style would put incredible physical demands on our players and might not work as well against England's larger proportion of shithouse clogger clubs.

Which is why is probably wont happen.
I dont have any faith in the people running the club to make the best decision.
They are probably scared of him.
If my assistant had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off goalkeeper Patr Cheh. he beeped me to signal the foul. The noise from the crowd  stopped me hearing it, I have been involved at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Old Trafford, Arsenal, but I've never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

Who cares. There are always a few against anything. That is the way of the world.

Klopp is the man. Absolutely no other option out there who is a better fit and the right credentials that match our situation.

He built Dortmund from a similar situation to what we are in.

He's the number one pick. That is without doubt.
