Lovren, Lallana, Balotelli, Lambert, if it were any other team we'd piss ourselves laughing, but I'm weeping.

And to think we all thought Carroll, Downing and Adam would be the nadir.

Who do you want?

I want us to keep Rodgers. The only change I hope we make is a change to the committee which includes Rodgers so that we get better transfers.

13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

To get back to the game:

Hull fully deserved their win. They were the better side.

Bollox, 69% possession away from home. Our lack of firepower cost us but no way were they the better side. I suppose West Brom were the better side on Saturday too?

It's not irrelevant when Rodgers himself stated that by spending that kind of money (regardless of net spend), they should have been going for the title.

If that's what he believes, he knows he has failed.

Yeah Smicer has missed your original point from the get-go. You were clearly (if you follow the Premier League) saying how hypocritical it is of BR to say "we're 5th so we're at where we should be", considering the same man said 12 months ago (as a cheeky dig at Tottenham) that they should be competing for the title with their spending.

I believe Smicher misread the context of your 1st point when you said "12 months ago spending 100m should have you challenging for the title". He must have assumed you meant us spending 100 mil should have us challenging (it should), not you referring to Tottenham. I believe this is because Smicer doesn't watch interviews and pressers. If he does/did, then either he has a poor memory or terrible deduction abilities, contextually speaking

You would argue Rafa would keep more clean sheets(with out playing that stiff 3 at the back formation) and he would have got us to a FA cup final.

Jamie Carragher ‏@Carra23 56s56 seconds ago

Only watching the highlights but Emre Can looks like the first right back I've ever seen with a free role!!

Not sure he played RB all game. But that's also part of the problem. We finished the game with just two defenders. Skrtel and Johnson. And we were not much better in attack because of it. It's like we just throw on more attacking players when we want to score.

Most of that possession was us passing it sideways and backwards, did you watch the game? Hull fully deserved that win.

They might not be available, but they are far more likely to be available now than later. I'm sure there are many clubs negotiating in the background but the longer we wait the less likely they'll be available.

Very true. We may even be one of those clubs and have already been told the story. They may have to wait until the merry-go-round stops and see whats left.

I'm really just trying to think of reasons why they wouldn't let him go now. They might be a). No one available and willing to come is available yet, b). they see the flaw in the set-up and are willing to change it to get the best out of transfers.

Pains me. Further more imagine Rafa had 35million to spend on a striker. I bet it wouldn't have been Andy Carroll
He's got Gonzalo Higuain, and he's still a mile off the top team in Italy.

We've managed 7 goals in our last 9 games, I doubt anyone has been that poor in terms of scoring goals, except Burnley, despite them having Danny Ings

Juventus are by far the best team in Italy. Napoli would have to invest heavily to be considered on the level of Juve. What use is Higuain when your whole defence are trash. Just saying

Money spent, no ideas or sense of direction, poor by all accounts in Europe, had a decent chance of fourth despite the poor start, didn't address the lack of quality strikers in January, bottled it in important matches.

Rodgers has to go.

So contracts essentially mean shit then yeah? Sorry, but the club handled it disgracefully. Not having a go but you can see where I'm coming from here surely. Anyway, it's all in the past now, and there's dick all we can do about it. But the way it was paraded at the time, tying him in to a long term deal and broadcasting it like the greatest thing ever, made us fans look like fucking chumps. Tonight is just the latest example of the club being so far off the pace it's embarrassing.

They wanted to make sure they got their money in case he did something silly and damaged his value.

The point is it shouldn't be beyond us to be higher. Rubbish results against lower end clubs can happen, but the nature of the performance in conjunction with the result makes it unacceptable.
