Just watched it back and read the report. Referring to BHA and horse can’t run for 40 days. Trainer confirms he was running to instructions until the last. First time out for trainer and obviously not sure what he had, hence the price. Fucked it up for future gambles, that’s for sure

Gambling on it is an absolute minefield as they’re all twisting fuckers who’re trying to get a low handicap mark. Mark Prescott runs a horse for 1m6 over 7f for 3 races that’ll go off at 150/1 or bigger and then it’ll rattle off 4 or 5 in a row on the bridle when it’s upped to its actual trip at odds on and they’ll not bat an eye lid. Boughey did the same with a horse called Concorde. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to ever gamble it nowadays. It’s as bad as I’ve ever seen. It’s only worth paying any interest as you never know when you’ll see a superstar horse. That’s what keeps me interested.

While it was a very disappointing field for the Eclipse numbers wise that was a great finish between the two class horses

I saw a horse called Sparks Fly win its 6th race in a row today. First 5 runs in its career were on All-Weather, 100/1 on 2 occasions. Managed a third place on its fifth AW race, and took an OR of 59 to the Flat. Its OR today for the 6-timer was 93, and it won by almost 2 lengths and probably has more to come, especially on softer ground

Already 3/1 for the 2,000. Definitely looks an outstanding horse, but lots can happen over such a long time, i'm always wary of backing 2yo's Ante Post.

He was impressive yesterday, not sure what he beat, and I’ve always felt that AOB never sends his good horses to this meeting (July Cup aside). But possible he could be an exception

Pretty much sums up my two trips to Newmarket last week, although I did get one winner in the very last race. Coming after my Ascot debacle I think it’s time for a break

Marathon trips is where she may hold her own. Still not convinced about that though. Looks like O’Callaghan has a good one in Kairyu. Loved Henry Longfellow too, he is bred to be spectacular. Dubawi x Minding is about as good as you could see on a page.

She was available at 999/1 in running apparently, so was amazing she managed to win.

Yep don’t often get a proper field for this race anymore. Agree with your shout for Pyledriver too, so that’s him trailing home last

Also think Emily Upjohn is worth a go, seemed a good run in the Eclipse, only just losing to Paddington over 2f shorter, would think return to a mile and a half is in her favour

It's a fantastic race on paper and completely agree with Pyledriver. He needed the run last time and still won. Best horse on ratings I think though Auguste demands respect.

I thought Pyledriver was in a great position but didn't have the speed. Also backed Hukum in the end so pleased with that, a serious racehorse indeed.

Great battle between the front two but a number below their best there. Hukum clearly an improved horse though.

Alflaila might be the next big improver in those colours, given he probably needed that run today. Great day for Owen Burrows

Yeah, Pyledriver just didn’t seem to have it. He looked cooked turning for home. A lot of no shows there and most of them short enough in the betting. King of Steel ran alright but got done by a couple of better ones on the day. Hukum would have to be a big player in the Arc. He likes soft ground too which he’ll likely get in France.

You're also right about Auguste Rodin; extremely unpredictable. I thought he had a decent shout but the odds were far too short.
