Doing the Joe Wicks workout with my 10 year old American kid and having her actually get into it and try hard so much that her muscles hurt for the rest of the day.

No mate.

That "space" is a 5 minute drive from home, followed by a 15 minute walk along nature trails, cycle paths and well known local walks.

Recently though it's been so busy with all the "new" outdoor exercisers that it's been impossible to get to and maintain safe distances.

I've now sussed out that instead of going out at my usual 6.30am and go at 7.30 it's deserted again so I've got my space back [emoji16]

The Power of Truth.

Meeting me best mate from childhood today in Sefton Park. Then deciding were are going to lay flowers at the memorial by St John's Gardens. Sitting off in the gardens having a can getting our emotions together two plain clothes bizzies pop up and flash their ID at us and ask us what are we doing here ?

We're going to lay some flowers for the 96 at the memorial thing over there.

And their energy changed .

I then go on to speak about our kid and his passing in 2017 as wasn't sure about was to happen next.

They went dead humble and says it's sound take as long as youse want .

It's nice to see some Bizzies have a human heart.

The Power of Truth - 1

Bizzies - 0

My Yank "Californian" other half saying English and Lancashire phrases like "Wind your neck in", "Barmy" and "Harping on" an saying "Pop" when the kids want a drink.

So cute. :D

Had to drive to the shops, going through Trafford Park a white BMW flies past me, at least 60 in a 40. I spots the coppers other side of the road, next thing a white unmarked BMW pulls out, flies past me and pulls the first one over ;D

Putting this in the happy thread as I've given up getting pissed off and being stressed about things I have no control over.

My beautiful, caring and considerate neighbours who have ignored all the social distancing advice now have the girlfriends round whilst they're at work.

It's a single guy who lives in the flat on his own but as hes been working away on and off his brother has been "using" the place.

Both girlfriends are sat outside, large as life, enjoying the sunshine, not a care in the world.

Yep, no point stressing over what we cannot control.

I'm currently looking out of the window and we have 13 people, men, women and children, in the grounds of the apartments chatting, playing football, eating and drinking.

All very pleasant and civilised, but not too clever given the current circumstances.

It's pretty much business as usual round here.  Apart from queuing to shop, folks are just going about their normal lives with not a care in the world.

Sounds like the brother's arrived home next door and now the party's in full swing.  Hopefully me turning the tv to full whack will not only make them realise the walls are like paper but drown out their noise so I can follow the film.

Neighbours. They can make it break your life. We’re now living in a detached house, which for me anyway, it’s worth the extra money. My missus was never really bothered by neighbour noise as she was brought up with her mum in a 2 bed flat. I grew up in a detached bungalow, so have never got used to it. Even a door closing sets me off.

So that’s something that makes me happy. Having no immediate neighbours.

Same mate growing up in a detached and I cant wait to get back in one.

We've lived here for nearly 20yrs now and the last 15yrs we've had problems with all the neighbours we've had on both sides, one way or another.

Every Friday, closing my laptop and going up on the roof of my block with a beer.

Tonight we changed it up a bit and took a bottle of cava because it was on offer in Morrisons.
If I were a linesman, I would execute defenders who applauded my offsides.

Totally relate. I grew up in a semi detached with a sweet old lady next door. I always had to keep my music and tv quiet as a teenager as my parents reminded me to think of our neighbor.
Living in a detached house now and playing music as loud as I like never gets old.

Do those two things go together, Jill?

Are you relaxed because of the art?

Or just enjoying lots of art, coupled with simultaneous and incidental relaxation?  :wave

Recently I’ve stopped listening to the news and watching TV generally. My evenings are completely focussed on relaxing and only doing things which I really want to do. I worried about going back to work, which is partly why I decided to change my evenings somewhat. It also helps that when I do Art I always listen to my music, and music really helps in that respect. 😀

Ah, so you're actually creating the art, not just regarding it.

Makes perfect sense, that...

I sussed out my work life balance about 10yrs ago but compared to a lot of people we have a very simple, stripped back lifestyle.

We don't eat out, we don't go out, we don't holiday abroad, we have a tiny mortgage, no credit cards and nothing on finance.

That means we need very little money and I can do as much or as little work as I need to.

This lockdown has changed our lives very, very little.  Queuing to shop and more people out on our dog walks is about it really.

I think slot of people will struggle with going back to an office environment.

I do miss my friends and colleagues in the office, but I don't miss the commute, going to shops in my lunch hour, queuing for the lift etc.

My wife loves the holidays abroad, as I do too and I'd get murdered if we didn't go away, we try to go out most weeks as a family too - with having two boys of 9 and almost 12, we have that expense too. I've got £9.7k left on a loan I got for a holiday and to sort out the finances I messed up when I was suffering with depression. We owe about £6k on the house and that's it.

My plan is to be working PT by 60, either still in IT if work will keep me on, but if not, then on the HGV's. If I get onto the agencies doing ADR work of a weekend, I can earn about £18 - 20ph, so 4 x 10 hr shifts is £760 - 800 a month, so I could easily earn £1200 a month doing 2 days a week. Another option is just working as a shunter, just moving trailers about in the yard - I could earn £250 to £300 for a weekend doing that.  The rest of the time I will be flying the Harris Hawk (or an Owl) that I intend to get in the next 12 months.

Makes it easy without the expense of kids Rob and I've never really done holidays abroad.  My last trip was a 2wk camping and kayaking trip with friends to the Pyrenees in 2001.

Neither of us like heat, or crowds or pissheads and won't go anywhere that's likely to be busy.  We avoid doing anything on sunny weekends or bank holidays.

We both love sport and music.  We have decks set up in the house and have friends round regularly.

Unlike those who fantasise about a jetset lifestyle if they won the lottery I'd disappear to the most remote part of the Highlands or Canadian Rockies or New Zealand where I can ignore all the shite of the 21st century.

I just need a good internet connection so I can follow the Reds [emoji23]

I’d do that too reddebs. I’d get satellite broadband if I chose a really remote location.
We aren't walking through the storm now - we are the storm.

Yep I'd give most of it away just keep enough to buy somewhere and live off grid where possible.

Hmmm satellite broadband might look into that [emoji106]

I didn't fly until I did a skydive at 27, first trip abroad was to Amsterdam with an ex when I was 30. Lived in Berlin for a month with work in 2002 and did city breaks to Bruges, Berlin and Vienna. Then I met the missus, whose passport rivaled Judith Chalmers. Since then we've done Florida 3 times, Greece x 3, Dubai x 2, Lanzarote x 2, Spain about 7 times (Menorca and Majorca as well as mainland) and Tenerife about 14 times. Should have been going to Majorca next month and Mexico in Oct.

If I won millions I'd winter in the Canaries and bum about in the UK rest of the time, although I could see myself pissing off abroad more than I stayed in the UK.

I'm going to struggle to go back to full time work, takes up far too much of your life. During the day I'm getting loads done I never have time for.

I actually think a lot will change out of this. Life, for a start will take a good long while to get back to "normal." But some organisations will be having their eyes opened through this. Some will realise that having people working from home is not just possible, but very useful. I have always thought this country doesn't have the balance of life right. We are too rigid in the idea of work, instead of having a work and life balance. Other countries are far ahead on this idea. They have already said where I work in the Council, that this whole situation is opening up possibilities which before didn't exist. I am expecting more people to be working from home overall, that can only be good.

My team lead has always pushed back against the idea of working from home - suddenly, having realised he gets 2.5 hours of his life back EVERY day by not commuting, he is suddenly all for it.
