Got to laugh at the pro-Liverpool media attempt to cause a shitstorm, they've known about this 'mutiny' for weeks yet choose to expose it just before we play LFC. ::)

Oh they are is an agenda against Man Utd.
Meltdown.

Sounds like Carrick and Rooney passed on the feelings of the squad regarding training which is well within their rights as Captain and VC, no problem with that.

I can't wait to give you a good hiding at the weekend and shove it up their arses. :)

Pinched from the City thread but...

http://www.typicalcity.org/2014/09/15/david-mooney-is-there-an-anti-manchester-city-media-agenda/

everyone – informed me that it’s my duty to talk up Manchester United at every given opportunity,

‘Why?’ you might ask. Certainly, I did ask. And the answer was clear: Manchester United are the bigger revenue bringers, so their fans need to have their egos massaged.

Looks like we both need tinfoil hats mate.  :) :)

The most important thing to analyse here is this- Why did it take Rooney and Carrick a whole season to open up? Why now? What was their dark secret that Van Gaal was holding?

Quote
Louis van Gaal can be credited for implementing a playing philosophy, which made us very successful in the first season," Lahm writes. "But he refused to acknowledge the deficits of his philosophy in the second season and he refused to eliminate them." "Our game was completely geared towards offense and this saw us concede a lot of goals in Van Gaal's second year," Lahm adds. "I pointed out some of our areas of concern to Van Gaal and he listened to me, but then he would do what he wanted to do.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

I'm confused didn't the players know this when he was hired? I mean there were tons of articles detailing how he works with players and his methods.

A lot of this would have never happened under Gill and Fergie.

Changes at the top and the media are getting more briefs that the previous regime would have kept in house.

I like it.  ;D

The media is not pro-anybody.

There probably will be an article soon about how Liverpool are in imminent crisis too. And then once the match finishes depending on who wins, the loser will be in deep deep crisis with questions asked by players, their wives/their wives hairdressers/their dogs/their dogwalkers etc etc.

I am sure none of this is new or surprising. Has always happened IMO. Only difference is its now more visible and accessible to everybody.

Arsene Wenger: "We have known about Martial since he was a kid. He is more a winger-type but is an exceptional talent."

Thiago Silva: "I do not know if Anthony Martial is worth €80 million or less, but he really reminds me of Thierry Henry. He has his (Henry’s) technique, his physique, his reading of the game.”

Louis Saha: "In France we call him the next Thierry Henry because he can play left or right, he's got a great ability with the ball, he can take on three, four players with ease, there is no problem."

Eric Cantona: "Martial is France's biggest talent, in three years he'll be worth €100m. Hopefully he scores many goals for United."

Yohan Cabaye: “He is like Thierry Henry. Trust me. He has the same qualities as Thierry."

Paul Pogba: “I call him ‘the young old man’ because he’s 19 and he’s already so mature for his age. He has great ability and a huge amount of potential. He will bring a lot to the French team."

Madness to say that. Will lose a lot of authority and respect.

And if they already don't like his methods another couple of defeats could see the players give up on him.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.

United supporters sure love a quote. You can't have a conversation about Scholes without it being mentioned that Xavi said this, and Zidane said this.

Now it'll be Martial's turn i see.

With sports journalism I don't think the paper is important really but the individual with the story. The Sunday Times for example has one of the worst bullshitters around while the Mail has some good ones like the guy who broke the Cardiff story. No idea who wrote this United story though.

There is no denying he is a good talent, but he is raw and unproven. The question is about the fee, what if he fails? We saw many good talents failing in the past, but this one, if he fails, will cost ManU a lot.

In the past 10-15 years alone, France produced several "next Henry", "next Zidane" and "next Vieira" players including but not limited to Ben Arfa, Nasri, Gourcuff, Cheyrou, Pongolle etc. Amazing youngsters who have proven themselves more like Gotze and Isco are not guaranteed starters for Bayern and Real Madrid either. Just to think about it, Martial cost almost a combined fee of 3 of the big talents Gotze, Isco and Thiago Alcantara...

With that attitude, and given his madness, I can totally see Van Gaal benching Martial as season progresses. Pressured by his price tag, he will play him at first, but over the course of the season, I won't be surprised if Van Gaal ends up preferring Fellaini ;D

Times - De Gea on the verge of new Manchester United contract

Jorge Mendes arrived for talks at 1PM today. Manchester United will insist on a full commitment and no release clause. De Gea now appears likely to agree to these terms.

This whole thing is just weird. A strange 'transfer' saga from start to finish. I'm not sure what position United are in to insist on 'a full commitment' (Rick Astley negotiating obviously) or no release clause. I'm even less sure why De Gea would agree to it.
