Fenerbahçe take title honours in Turkey

"We are so proud to serve this club," enthused Fenerbahçe SK coach Ersun Yanal after his side claimed their 19th Turkish title with a goalless draw at home to Çaykur Rizespor.

Fenerbahçe SK are celebrating their 19th Turkish league title after a goalless draw with Çaykur Rizespor proved sufficient to establish an unassailable 12-point lead at the summit with three games to go.

The Istanbul club required just a point to complete the job and achieved just that in front of a crowd of 50,537. "It has been a very difficult three years. In that time we have won the Turkish Cup twice and finally we have won the league," said full-back Gökhan Gönül, whose side will finish the season unbeaten at home should they avoid defeat against Kardemir Karabükspor next month.

For coach Ersun Yanal, meanwhile, it was Fenerbahçe's eye-catching brand of football that made them worthy champions. "We deserved to win the title because of the football we have played. We have given everything and I'd like to thank my players for their efforts," he said. "We are so proud to serve this club and this title was very important for us. We were determined to win the league from the off."

If you don't live in here Turkey and don't realize the political manipulations you should really shut up.

Even Galatasaray fans had accepted the political takeover operation on Fenerbahce Sports Club but you still have boldness to say this ridiculous match fixing thing.

Bruno Alves also played legendary this season. I don't know why Zenit sell him to us.

They've paid 22m euros for him and sold us 5m euros after 2 seasons.

I don't suppose money is a big factor in transfer deals for Zenit, they will have known they would never recoup anywhere near as much as they spent on him.

I've always rated him, cracking shot on him too - not that i'd have him as my set piece taker infront of Ronaldo as he was for Portugal a few seasons ago.. has he scored many this season?

Do you think Miroslav Stoch will return to Fener next season also?

dont think so. In Turkey teams are not free to sign with foreign players. each team can sign 8 foreign players. stoch is a great player but if turkish FA will not change that rule he won't return
