Look, really, who gives a fuck 1st, 2nd top four in december. Forget all that, we're around the top, well done so far, now just see the 3 points.

Agreed. Although they have been scoring early goals for fun recently, so keeping them out for the first half hour will give us an edge psychologically that other teams haven't had.

The longer we can keep them out, it's advantage us. They are used to scoring the first goal and early on too. They haven't had to deal with being behind at home often and if we can nick the first goal it will be interesting to see how they react. Enjoy the game.

If we lose we go fourth, if we draw we stay third and win go back top. Everton losing today takes some pressure off as even if we lose we will still be in that top four.
But our next match wilk be hard as today would be.
two matches with  worst scenario implies us being 6th.

I think the one thing were overlooking with cissokho is b4 he was asked to play WB, which he prob wasnt fit enough for at the time.
He played LB against Fulham (his last game) and was shocking, if he can't look half decent against a very poor Fulham side who offered very little going forward then it has to be  worry today.

It is his positional sense that is the biggest issue, he will caught out of position and when he doesn't he still allows balls into the box by standing off. You watch and see.

Chelsea will be much easier. We'll beat them. Who's to say all our rivals will win their next game anyway? Spurs have got Southampton with no Howard or Barry.

how can fans question cissokho and be happy when johnson plays???for me john/ciss same as both lack the proper defensive nous to be considered top class defenders.

I'm certainly no johnson fan but comparing them just because they are both "attacking" backs seems silly, Cissokho doesn't have anywhere near the ball skills Johnson does (at least not that he's displayed so far)

Cissokho has played for Porto, Lyon and Valencia. A player would not make appearances for these clubs if they are deemed not good enough. He'll put in a shift and do just fine. I'm sure he would have been told to keep it simple and get forward when appropriate.

Luis just needs to isolate Lescott or Kolarov once or twice, that's two goals

Everyone here is just concentrating on our defence ?

What about theirs ?

Just as weak and largely more untested - And they have the best in the world up against them  :lickin

Cissokho is much better than kelly  especially against navas. Kelly tends to have the movement of someone like dan agger when he plays left back.

agreed but we,re talking here about cisscos defending which as i said it on a par with johnson,,i think hes exciting going forward but then he should be playing right wing,i dunno, maybe im been a bit harsh on j but i like defenders to defend firstly b4 thinking of goin forward but it seems to be the new thing in the prem to have attacking full backs .

Hardly a ringing endorsement of Cissokho by Rodgers:  (Flanno is out injured) "... so that gives Cissokho a chance"

He also noted that City's lineup are set up for 4-3-3 for this match, as opposed to the 4-4-2 they've played all season.  Hopefully the confusion will set up some chances for us.
“It's impossible,” said Pride.  “It's risky,” said Experience.  “It's pointless,” said Reason.

Hardly a ringing endorsement of Cissokho by Rodgers:  (Flanno is out injured) "... so that gives Cissokho a chance"

Works two ways really, tells Aly that if he's not on his game then his place has gone back to Flanagan and he's stuck on the bench again.

i'm expecting him to make a massive step up today but still think Navas will tear him a new one for the majority of the game.
