Are we still being linked with a move for Franco Di Santo?
I fucking hope not. He's out of contract and we should let him stay that way. Nowhere near good enough for us. That left winger who for some reason had a goalie kit on though, proper decent. In all seriousness, Wigan left it too late and defended like amateurs today. There's only about three players in that team who deserve to be picked up by PL clubs when they go down.

Pretty sure I've seen that on a sheet of Papyrus in the Everton trophy cabinet.

He's out of contract is the summer and Rodgers know him from his Chelsea days.

Everton were relegated in 1929/1930 two years after winning the league and Dixie Dean had his record breaking season.

Get in. Massive result for us. But it's only that if we can get at least a point at QPR. We REALLY need a win though,

Would have been nice to see Newcastle (mainly because of Alan Pardew) relegated, can't see it happening now though.

Oh well, at least it will be good to see Dave Whelan finally fucking off.

That was amazing. Those last 15 minutes in which Stam got injured after 10 seconds, Wigan continually refused to get the ball in the box and lost the ball ridiculously several times, the keeper put in a better cross than those who are paid good money to do so, and whose final kick was one of the worst crosses seen by mankind, will live long in the memory.

Having said that, it was an enjoyable game, but I wanted a Wigan win to make the last 2 games interesting. Useless bastards.

I think Arsenal, of all the long serving clubs, are the only ones not to be relegated.

Fucking sackless pie eating bastards - I am sure I heard clown music in the background every time the ball was within 30 yards of Wigan's goal.

Newcastle will get something out of the QPR fixture. I'd be worried if I were a Norwich fan as they genuinely need to do well in their last two fixtures against West Brom and Manchester City. I don't think Wigan will beat Arsenal and therefore Wigan will be relying on beating Villa and Norwich having two very poor final outings. Sunderland are safe on virtue of goal difference

Relegated in the 50's too.

I think Arsenal, of all the long serving clubs, are the only ones not to be relegated.
They should have been after WWI but some dodgy deal kept them in there, and they've been there since.

Arsenal were relegated in 1912/13, but were allowed back when the First Division  expanded after the war because Liverpool chairman John McKenna was a friend of Arsenal's chairman. He insisted they be readmitted back into the recently expanded First Division on account of their previous good standing. Incidentally, he also championed Chelsea being admitted back into the First Division, despite the fact they'd be relegated. Spurs who were relegated that same year, were not allowed to stay in the First Division. McKenna was also Chairman of the Football League at the time and there are some talk of collusion there.

Only team I can see going down now apart from Wigan is Norwich. Can see newcastle getting something at Qpr. If Norwich lose on Saturday at home to WBA, then they'll have to pray Wigan don't beat Villa at home. Norwich have city away last day.
