Just got our new top in the mail from dhgate. I swear if you handed it to me and told me you bought it from the official site I'd never know. On first glance it looks like a darker shade of red, but when you compare it to our current one it's actually not. It's brilliant.

How long did it take to come? Mine was posted on Wednesday

I'm presuming all these knock-off shirts look pretty spot on BUT don't have any of the shirt fabric "technology" like the official ones do?

e.g. to wick away moisture, be a sports fit, and light and durable.......?

As a runner who's ran a half in a NB top and also in the 17/18 shirt I can say the club tops are terrible. The "pro" ones that are £90 or whatever are probably better.


But the bog standard ones are awful

Yeah, even though I haven't run a marathon in any of mine, whenever I did gardening or whatever in my adidas footy tops it felt like I was wrapped up in plastic....which essentially I was!
All the adidas (and other manufacturer's) blurb about "shirt technology" and other such gumpf on the normal shirts seems like bollox to me!
It's always much more comfortable just wearing a cotton t-shirt!

I guess the main advantages of the footy shirts is that the material is more durable than cotton and doesn't get as heavy when wet.
But all this "it breathes" malarkey....? Give over...

Do you think the knock-offs are probably shirts that fell short of the stringent factory quality control standards (even by a tiny degree) and hence couldn't be sold?
But one bright, entrepreneurial geezer probably thought he could make a bit of change by selling them off on the sly?

Something I read years ago was that the staff who make the shirts basically take stuff home and make them of a night to subside their wages.

My kids have genuine kits and DHGate bought kits and you cannot tell any difference in the material. As has been said earlier, I am convinced they come from the same factory.

If you look in the neck of the fake ones they're made in Thailand, the real ones from the Philippines, but there are close connections between them all.
