There are clearly two separate departments working on kit design these days. Firstly, there are the sports designers who know a bit about the actual sport, what fabrics etc work well and also how to come up with a sleek, classic look and feel that the players will feel good wearing and the supporters will like enough to part with the vast wads of their hard earned money it takes to purchase them nowadays.

Once Department One has come up with something good, the project gets moved on to Department Two. This is where the budding Gok Wan's get to work. These are the hipsters whose task it is to overthink everything. These are the guys who decide to put stupid panels in, fuck up collars, put seams where they are not needed and detract from the overall look, then pass the whole thing off as "cutting edge and fresh design technology". They do this with straight face, too.

We, the fan and consumer, often then scratch our heads and liken the whole exercise to when Ronny Rosenthal was clean through on an open goal away to Villa and somehow conspired to hit the bar rather than burst the gaping, empty net.

To be honest i like all 3 kits + the keepers black one. The away kit i would prefer to be the reverse of the home kit but the colour looks better on the pic above with the shorts.
