i actually think this thread may look a tad daft come the end of the season.Im not saying he is setting the world alight but with the team he was left with from Whisky nose he is actually doing quite well IMO. Shoot me now.  :butt

Define quite well though. They may well end up above is, they may well make top 4. They have a good chance of winning a cup. But really unless they win the League or Europe I think this thread will be just fine.

Sorry man. We're delighted for you. You go Moyed Boys!

Unlike the butt hurt us taking the piss out of you despite you winning causes you? By the way, you need another 3 goals to make it an impressive CL scoreline

Or maybe we were agreeing on the fact that it was a bad performance, so there wasn't anything to add. How about realizing that winning 5-0 away from home in europe is pretty damn good even if leverkusen were wank?

Not as hilarious as a grown man using the phrase "butt hurt". Touching you'd think we would want to read a detailed breakdown of what went right though.

Not as funny as the fury spewed by United fans at every dropped point or defeat. There's actually an admission about United in what you've said there. United have slipped and you know it. It shows in how thankful you all are for results like last night.

Trust me when I say we're the ones doing most of the laughing.

There is no doubting we have slipped. We are going through a big transition and finding it tough. We will not be the same under Fergie, no doubt. But we can't be happy with a very good performance, our best so far this season in such a big game for the club?

Liverpool wouldn't be happy with a big away win in Germany? C'mon.

Course we would. We'd have the decency top keep it to the appropriate Champions League thread though not try and piss on your chips elsewhere!

Right, I shall vacate the name calling for a bit (partly my fault in the first place as we know) and leave it for the more sane amongst us to debate the merit of Moyes.

fair play. 5-0 is a good win in Europe over anyone.

I was bladdered for fuckin ages when we beat them (pretty much before as well). Missed our flight home the following day as well so stayed drunk.

Didn't go onto Redcafe to see what they thought strangely enough.

That was probably because I have no interest whatsoever in what Mancs think of us.
All the badge kissing in the world don't make up for the fact that they are, frankly, not Liverpool Football Club. It's not their fault. Its just how it is.

It was a decent win, nothing more. Just like how we beat Beşiktaş 8-0, sure the scoreline looked great but the opponents were dogshit.

Don't know about the rest on here but I sure as hell didn't watch it, was reading it on BBC website. Haven't watched a United CL game for 5 years. Had my interests firmly placed in Madrid v Galatasaray.

I am certain most of us and you guys never expected united to win 5-0 against the 2nd placed team in germany away from home. If you read the comments prior to the match you would see the same...but then its a futile discussion.

What did Leverkusen do last night? Roll over and kiss your feet?

Jaysus, they are the supposed second best team in the BuLi right now but this? Embarrassing stuff, especially when playing a weakened United.

Fair play to you lot, though, you exploited their weaknesses (mentality first and foremost) quite neatly, it seems.

Heck of a win and United are probably the form team in the Premiership now. I thought the team selection was smart but you have to wonder how well Giggs-Jones would work week in week out. They are perhaps gonna be more defensively vulnerable without Carrick.

The irony being they have less chance of winning that than the league.

I know they beat Arsenal but I reckon Arsenal have still picked up more points in the last 5-6 games. Could be wrong.

red Mancs - 4 wins 2 draws
Arse, Chelsea, Newcastle - 4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss
Blue Mancs - 4 wins, 2 losses
Southampton, Liverpool - 3 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss

Extend that to 8 games, and you have 2 losses for Utd to throw in, while Arse have an extra 2 wins

It was obviously an amazing result, beating one of the top European teams 5-0 away from home is the sort of thing that happens once in a blue moon.

There's no doubt that Moyes is an above average manager, it's just that he's not a great fit for such a big club with huge expectations because he does not have experience of winning - caution leads to underperformance. He'll do just fine because of the help and support of Fergie and the immense global image and revenue of the club. I think he'll adapt his ways to throw more caution to the wind because he's gonna have to. But it doesn't come naturally and that is key - he'll always be out of his comfort zone. You can see it already on the touchline.  He's not Sam Allardyce, but neither is he Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Rafa Benitez, Fabio Capello, Guus Hiddink, etc. which is the sort of manager we thought you might be able to attract.
