Highbury's first ever game under floodlights in 1951 against Tel Aviv.
The dominant pre-war Arsenal side that won 5 titles in the 1930s under Herbert Chapman, who basically invented the modern Arsenal, as well as introducing many facets to the game itself such as white footballs, numbers on shirts. He's our Shankly. You can read about him here if interested:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Chapman#LegacyClub legend (and many an old sod's favourite ever player), and current head of youth development, Liam Brady. He's already on this thread but he's wearing the wrong kit
Yeah, sorry boys...
Yeah sorry again...
This is from the 1979 Cup final, known to us as the 'Five Minute Final' against Man Utd. We were leading 2-0 with five minutes to go. Utd managed to level it, and then we nicked it 3-2 all in the last few minutes. You may also be able to tell by now why Arsenal fans love the yellow-blue kit combo
