Was at Wembley for the Sheffield Utd v Hull semi, have to say both sets of fans were spot on. Minutes applause and all joined in.

Me too Stevie..only heard good things too chatting to both Hull and Sheffield Utd fans. I watched the Liverpool game in The Railway and after the families eating Sunday roasts had stopped chatting a perfect hush descended and the minutes silence was impeccably observed by all . The pub was packed and all fans , Liverpool, City,Hull City and Sheffield Utd fans were superb..wasn't expecting it to be honest.

A friend of mine is a Coventry fan, and they played Peterborough away yesterday.

Apparently they played You'll Never Walk Alone (unheralded) before kick off, and initially one or two joined in, before slowly and surely, the whole ground sang it as one.

That has just brought me to tears

My Da took the photo at St James' Park the day after Uncle Bobby died.

I was going to get an image using Google but I thought I would use this photo instead cos to me it seemed perfect.  I just put the words on today.

Unusually for me I watched the city game in the pub.

I'd never set foot in this pub always thinking it was a bit of a dive, anyway it was the only pub I could find with sky sports showing the match.

I ventured in and about thirty people watched as I sauntered up to the bar, got a beer and sat down to watch. On the wall of this pub is a load of footie memorabilia, mainly Chelsea, gillingham,Charlton and the dreaded Engerland, I was fearing the worst.

The whistle blew for the beginning of the minutes silence , I thought here we go bound to be totally ignored (at best) or worse a load of tasteless comments.

How wrong I was , it was impeccably observed , you could hear  a pin drop , I couldn't believe it I'd never experienced anything like it.

Restored my faith in human nature .

I have mentioned on Rawk before how I've always believed in the fight for justice & find it hard to comprehend how there are still fans out there that blame or dispute the facts that have since emerged .

If like me you've spent many games in the 80's or early 90's standing on a terrace & how the crowd can surge, sway & getting in to grounds in those days abit dilapidated & tight often unfit for purpose . Add the culture of the police towards fans it created a cocktail that many a young fan may not understand today in the post euro 96 , celebrity, MP's  bandwagon , premier league billion pound , new stadia, Sky Sports machine.

I have recorded the memorial service & other programmes to watch on LFCTV I haven't had time but will watch it over the weekend .

Its the search for more knowledge & understanding about Hillsborough that brought me to Rawk my first ever post was regarding Hillsborough on 15th April 2005 .

So lets hope the families get justice

what does this EAM '79 mean?

By all accounts it stands for 'Estranei alla massa' roughly translates as 'strangers to the mass' - they are a Napoli Ultra group called 'Fedayn E.A.M '79' formed in 1979.

I've always admired and appreciated the fact that rival fans post on RAWK, not just in solidarity for Hillsborough but for the genuine friendship, banter and proper football debate.  It's all greatly appreciated because we are all much richer for it.

Some seem to prefer RAWK to message boards of their own clubs.  ;)

I want to say something in this thread if that is okay with you guys.  If it is not then by all accounts one of the Moderating Team will remove it, and that is fine by me.

I was in Newcastle 2 days ago and while in town went up to St James Park.  I took with me a scarf and a card with a message written on it and left them at the stadium.  They have a special area set aside for tributes to John and Liam, the two "Toon Fans" killed last week when the plane they were traveling in was shot down by a SAM as it flew over Ukraine.  They were on their way to watch The Toon play friendly game in New Zealand.

A couple of die hard, passionate and dedicated supporters.

When I was there I seen a lot of Liverpool FC shirts, scarves and cards with beautiful messages written on them.  I also seen a CD which had been left and it was The Justice Collective, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother.

Thank you.
