Yeh, and if I knock someone over whilst driving tomorrow and they die from their injuries it'd still be an accident. I'd still get charged with death by dangerous driving though.

No you wouldnt. If you were driving dangerously you would. If they ran out in front of you then you wouldnt.

Refs are getting worse by the game.
One day, people will hopefully look back and say "I was there son. I was there the year that Spurs won nothing again."

An/Most exciting game is normally top of the order. We had a better and more exciting game than the rest I thought, so 4th does seem strange.
Yeah. Arguably this Everton/West Ham game could be first with us 2nd, but can't see why the other 2 are. Not a massive deal, but it is a bit annoying.

Just defending ref for sake of it mate.

He didnt know he was even there

Not at all. That's fine. You go play tomorrow and take someone's studs in your head and see what you think from that. I'm off from this thread. It's the right decision, no matter what you think of it.

Doesn't matter if his eyes were on the ball, if he didn't mean to do it, if he sucked him off after kicking him. Fact's are Carlton Cole went into the tackle with studs showing at head height of an opposition player. Just like Gibson's wild and rash tackle there. Both reds and using excessive force that they don't need to.

Might as well ban any physical contact. Just send everyone off.

Sorry my bad i thought it was not allowed for Coates knock down

to be fair, it's not exactly as if it was made that clear, remember loads of evertonians claiming it was because of coates. gerrard said he asked the lino after if he thought it was offside and he said he did

No actually it isnt

And Ive had studs in the head. Many times. And sometimes its a yellow sometimes its nothing

It is not a reckless challenge as there was no intent for it to be a challenge. He was attempting to control the ball

There has to be intent, there was none.

No, there doesn't. There has to be excessive force, of which there was plenty.

It is not a reckless challenge as there was no intent for it to be a challenge. He was attempting to control the ball

As defined by the laws of the game reckless = yellow, using excessive force = red. Cole and Gibson both used excessive force there.

There wasn't excessive force. He was lifting his leg up to control the ball. How is that excessive force?

Because the weapon should have been going in with his head like Baines was for a ball that high.

Far too much energy spent on it now but I'll just say that there was not excessive force. It was an accident

Are we sending players off for accidents now? What an absolute nonsense. That means if a player clearly falls over and slides into a player in the wet its a red aswell? falls over Give the foul by all means, if it gives an unfair advantage but a red is absurd

My money is on the ref simply not seeing it for what it was which you cant blame him for. Just an unfortunate incident for West Ham and the Ref

If you don't limit yourself with bad thoughts, you can fly

Because the weapon should have been going in with his head like Baines was for a ball that high.

He actually controlled it (which is an achievement for Carlton), Baines stooped slightly to head it. Common sense says there's no way that should be a red (I know refs make decision by the rulebook, not by common sense but that's a shame).

Still 3 match ban over Christmas for West Ham's main striker. Not going to complain!
