Remembering the Bradford fire
« on: May 11, 2012, 10:28:10 am »
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.  56 football fans went to watch a match at the Valley Parade football Ground this day 27 years ago, and didn't come back.  The fire was merciless and took victims as young as 11 and as old as 86.  Spare a thought or prayer for them today.

Wow. Remember watching that on the tele and to be honest it was one of the most tragic things I’ve ever seen. Going through the list of names to see whole families of men disappearing in one moment on what would have been a father/son day out makes it even more moving.

RIP. YNWA.

Thoughts with those lost, their families, and the people of Bradford.

Rest in peace.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

If memory serves me correctly, I think there was another boy from that Fletcher family that actually survived. How bad is that, to see your dad, your grandad, your uncle and your brother taken away from you like that? Doesn't even bare thinking about how horrific that would be does it?
