Frantically getting ready to come on couldn't it simply have slipped his mind?

He had all day.

Torres was not wearing an arm band when he came onto the field thus it could not have fallen off

That's what I mean. Surely it's not about just showing the fans and TV cameras the respect but by actually feeling the respect by wearing one, regardless of p;laying or sitting on the bench. That's why he has fucked up big time.
Keep the faith.

He had all day.

Don't players just put on their jerseys just before they come on? And then the armband? I really doubt he'd do that.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.
Adios Rafa, buena suerte.

For all who have Chelsea so called fans try to defend any of the idiots actions just send them this. Loss is not a here today, gone tomorrow item like their managers are

Come across this again when i was on the HJC site before. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and my eyes fill with tears.

The Justice Bell
by Dave Kirby

A schoolboy holds a leather ball
in a photograph on a bedroom wall
the bed is made, the curtains drawn
as silence greets the break of dawn.

The dusk gives way to morning light
revealing shades of red and white
which hang from posters locked in time
of the Liverpool team of 89.

Upon a pale white quilted sheet
a football kit is folded neat
with a yellow scarf, trimmed with red
and some football boots beside the bed.

In hope, the room awakes each day
to see the boy who used to play
but once again it wakes alone
for this young boy's not coming home.

Outside, the springtime fills the air
the smell of life is everywhere
viola's bloom and tulips grow
while daffodils dance heel to toe.

These should have been such special times
for a boy who'd now be in his prime
but spring forever turned to grey
in theYorkshire sun, one April day.

The clock was locked on 3.06
as sun shone down upon the pitch
lighting up faces etched in pain
as death descended on Leppings Lane.

Between the bars an arm is raised
amidst a human tidal wave
a young hand yearning to be saved
grows weak inside this deathly cage.

A boy not barely in his teens
is lost amongst the dying screams
a body too frail to fight for breath
is drowned below a sea of death

His outstretched arm then disappears
to signal fourteen years of tears
as 96 souls of those who fell
await the toll of the justice bell.

Ever since that disastrous day
a vision often comes my way
I reach and grab his outstretched arm
then pull him up away from harm.

We both embrace with tear-filled eyes
I then awake to realise
its the same old dream I have each week
as I quietly cry myself to sleep.

On April the 15th every year
when all is calm and skies are clear
beneath a glowing Yorkshire moon
a lone scots piper plays a tune.

The tune rings out the justice cause
then blows due west across the moors
it passes by the eternal flame
then engulfs a young boys picture frame.

His room is as it was that day
for thirteen years its stayed that way
untouched and frozen forever in time
since that tragic day in 89.

And as it plays its haunting sound
tears are heard from miles around
they're tears from families of those who fell
awaiting the toll of the justice bell.

After their disgraceful minutes silence at Wembley tonite :no, I really hope that not only do we twat them in the final but also outsing and outclass them too.

This is exactly why I didn't turn over to watch it until a couple of minutes in. It was inevitable with those fucking classless pricks

I hate them, I really really hate them and I hope we absolutely smash them.

Why? If it's because of the minute's silence then fair enough actually.

To me, they're a nothing club. They're desperate to have a rivalry with us because it gives them some kind of satisfaction that they're a big club but they're really not. The Rafa v Mourinho nonsense, the plastic flags, the desperation to beat us in the CL, that little message they had after one of their home CL games about waving scarves and being so unique. They're pathetic. Absolutely pathetic and their antics today pre match and the fact they couldn't even sell out their allocation says it all.
It's wonderful, it's marvellous, it's 3-3

Same here, thought it was inevitable but what else should we expect from the brainless FA and the absolute scum that supports Chelsea?

I'm sure theres an acceptable reason for Torres not wearing an armband? I doubt someone could play for this club for so long and give so much and still show such disrespect. Well I hope not anyway...

No, he's just a massive c*nt who only thinks about himself. It was always about him and it still is. Nobody could be that ignorant! He's a prick. End of

Maybe he said a prayer for the 96 when he woke up in the morning. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he cares, maybe he doesn't. It doesn't matter. Paying respects is not just a public show. It should be sincere for those who care. He is not a c*nt because he didn't wear the armband and he wouldn't be a classy guy just cos he did wear an armband. It's all about whats in your heart.

Unlike those plastics c*nts in the crowd who showed just how classless they are.

Agree.

We seem to be getting outraged at different people every day. Be it certain knobs on twitter, idiot columnists, or washed-up comedians. Let's not now start a witch-hunt against players who didn't wear armbands. Mourning, or showing respect, shouldn't be made 'compulsory'; if it is, then it's meaningless.

I am locking this because I am uncomfortable with the juxtaposition of the various strands of discussion in here and unfortunately it is now far too big to split sensibly.

I'd suggest separate threads for
Tickets and Travel for ticket speculation
Main Forum for pointless team predictions
Hillsborough Forum for discussion of the Chelsea fans and the lack of silence
Another site for the Torres nonsense you sad plums
Tweeting shit about LFC @kevhowson Tweeting shit about music @GigMonkey2
