why is enrique out and is kelly playing lb?

Think he's being rested for the next round of prem games. Kelly will likely play RB and Glen on the left like back end of last season.

Surprised no Maxi, but this is Kenny and he's more unpredictable for teams than Rafa was.

How do away goals work in the Carling Cup?

Same way they do in europe. If after extra time after the second leg the scores are draw the winner will progress on away goals.

How do away goals work in the Carling Cup?

Man City 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool 2-1 Man City. After 90 minutes we're not out as away goals won't be decisive. However, if it's Liverpool 2-1 Manchester City after 120 minutes we ARE out as the away goal rule comes into force.
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence.

Really don't understand not playing Enrique who has been absoloutely brilliant in more or less every game this season, don't see the logic in resting him for a cup semi-final. Either Johnson or Kelly will be playing out of their natural position now, even though Johnson was good at left back last season. No Maxi on the bench, seems like hes off :(

Still a good team though, need everyone to give 110% tonight though, even though its a weakened City team, they're still a top class side and their home record is brilliant. If Steven Gerrard shows up with one of his top performances they're in for a horrible night though.

Counted only after extra time in the second leg, if aggregate is a draw.

Think it had anything to do with the possible move back to Argentina last summer, rememeber a chairman, ot sure if it was newells?  Independiente? Anyhow, seemed like he was keen to finish up there, maybe kenny felt he couldn't trust someone on a continual basis for the long term?

Think we were going to let him leave on a free once his contract was up, which I think is this summer. Maybe you're right, although each time he's played he's given 100 percent but Kenny doesn't seem that keen in him.

In other news, COME ON YOU MIGHTY RED MEN!

Wrong. In Europe away goals count at the end of normal time second leg. No extra time is played if one team edges on away goals.

But goals scored by the away team in extra time count more that the goals scored by the home team. So if everything was square at the end of regulation and each team scored once each in the extra time the away team would win. Right?!

13.5 In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played. If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice. If the teams remain equal after this procedure the tie shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Laws of Association Football.

Counting twice? If we score once away it wil lcount as two after extra time . Isn't it different for CL . Away goals count before extra time doesn't it?

I think Enrique's been dropped because; firstly I think Kenny has promised Kelly all the league cup games (a guess) and secondly; with Silva being out and Nasri having a niggle is safe to say Johnson was going to start and they took a hunch and guessed he would play on the right wing, when Johnson plays on the right wing he 99% of the time cuts in side and has a shot or crosses from deep, so playing Johnson on the right would cut A.Johnson on to G.Johnson's right foot for an easier tackle, rather than Enrique who's not as strong as Glen on his right foot. Just my personal opinion as to why Enrique has been dropped.
"The club was great, the people were great and the people from Liverpool - the text messages, the phone calls, the emails, all the tweets I had on my Twitter account - it's unbelievable how much respect they showed me and it's also a bit emotional" - Dirk Kuyt
