Just seen the game, fairly impressive stuff, with the star of the show again their organisation, cohesion and shape as a team rather than any one individual. Joselu had some misses but he's the profile and fit of player that even if all he does is score 6 - 8 goals, his hold up, link up and movement will have ensured the team play to their potential. The consistent difference between a long pass ending with a throw in to you in opposition territory 2 moves later versus an opponent running at your back line 2 moves later etc.
You could get 10 - 15 from Gayle, inch steadily down the table and be wondering why when it's pretty clear. The few unorthodox possession at all costs managers that can extract the most out of an Aguero, Higuain, Gayle profile (without needing a 6'2 no 10 behind him) are few and far between and usually need money to load the team with high risk capable ballplayers like Guardiola. Once Joselu calms down and settles a bit as Crouch did with us in 05/06 you can see him getting a decent return, but whatever he scores, he should be the main man for a Benitez side imo. Perez has also improved physically and in his awareness, passing choices.
This team has a lot of room to grow while already capable of getting results against a lot of the average to dross sides. Should be interesting to see them v Brighton and of course, us soon.
