Dreadful stuff, but a result.
The one most important thing that we all must remember, in case it slipped our mind, is this club is much more important and bigger than anybody. I'll never forget that and anybody that does is being a wee bit irresponsible and stupid I think because the club is more important than any one individual. The Club is, The Club.

We needed to win that, first place looks gone now.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Our defence has been good but the two central midfielders have been pathetic. Absoloutely pathetic. If they're not going to be able to influence us going forward then at least be able to keep the ball when its gifted to you and not give it straight back to Russia putting the defence under pressure again. Not entirely their fault though, Trappatoni should of got McCarthy on as a 3rd central midfielder. Too stubborn.

Can't believe we held out there for a 0-0. Still though, even if we do qualify, no point in fucking going if we're going to play like this.

Well done Richard Dunne and O'Dea.

Exactly what I said earlier. If they were contributin' defensively but not offensively, fair enough. If they were contributin' offensively but not defensively, fair enough. But they are in no way whatsoever contributin' other than bein' wasteful in possession.

Ah right, ta.

Lampard starting is a joke as well.

I can't believe that Capello has managed to get away with playing pretty much the same players that have failed England for years. I really thought South Africa would be the wake up call we needed and that we'd start seeing the "golden generation" being weeded out, but no, still more or less the same dross that embarrassed us in the WC and didn't even qualify for Euro 2008.

Must say that was some result given the players Ireland had out there. When your backs are to the wall like Irelands were for most of that game, then Richard Dunne is the type of player you`d want in your team.He was immense.Given too.
Off the ball Ireland work so hard its just a pity we look like a league 1 side with it.

Great result though.
That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness

Or if it's a 4-3-3 then it's alright I guess?

Hart
Smalling Cahill Terry Cole
Lampard Milner Barry
Downing Rooney Young

Or is it a 4-4-1-1?

Hart
Smalling Cahill Terry Cole
Milner Lampard Barry Downing
Young
Rooney

Have to agree with Bob there. Constantly picking Andrews and Whelan is inviting teams on. Hoofing the ball just giving posession away, putting ourselves under more trouble. Takes of Kevin Doyle despite Keane being absolutely fucking shite and being wrecked tired. The squad is there, Liam Lawrence could have done a decent job there alongside Whelan.

As much as I hate International football, I'm really looking forward to this game tonight. Hopefully Wales can nick something and watch the media jump on team Rooney's back.
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

Er no, they won the game...

Did he put in a performance worthy of the tag 'destroyed' in that game? Tottenham overall played well and aside from the assist for Pavlyuchenko, I can't remember him performing better than say, Modric. They lost the game at the San Siro too. That's 2 games in what 10/11 months? He's fine young player but definitely overhyped in this country.

Bale won't get any credit for that game on here given who Inter's manager was. They were all over the place and running scared of him, especially Brazil's number one right back

He's overrated and thats a fact and for Fabio calling him the "best player in the world" is nothing short of embarrassing. A hatrick against an Inter team who were winning 4-0 and had taken they're foot off the gas months ago and he's done fuck all since then absolutely nothing that could warrent him the status as "world class". Indeed. As a defender, he's not all too great. Besides, I can't recollect Bale performing better than some other Tottenham players in that game. So that's 1.5 games 3/4 years ago.
