Gladbach are 4th with 36 points?  Wow, they were relegation candidates last season, I'm sure?

Incredible.

Yeah they finished 16th last season.

Reus has been on fire for them this season:

11 in 15 (league)
12 in 17 (all comps)

He's joining Dirtmund at the end if the season isn't he? Lifelong fan apparently and chose them over Bayern.

Yeah he's from their academy. Nice to see someone refuse Bayern for a change, unlike say Neuer. ::)

Wish I was a German just 'cos of how good their league is, cheap as fuck too, lucky gits.

Keep seeing this again and again and it's a bit of a myth. Yeah, the terraces are cheaper than the cheapest ticket at your average Premier League club - EUR 15 at Bayern, or at least it was when I lived there. But they're exclusively occupied by STH and most of the stadium is seated, and once you're in the seats, you're paying prices that are no cheaper than the Premier League. At Bayern those prices ranged from EUR 30-70.

Victory! :)
I wasn't able to watch the game but from what I've read, Nuremberg were class and we were lucky to win this.
And guess who scored our 2nd goal: Lucas Barrios! Great! 5 days ago, everyone thought he'd move to Fulham... I hope his first goal of the season gives him the confidence he needs, to be world class for us again.

FCN class? I think that's the first time I have seen that this season ;)

I went the to game last night and thought FCN just couldn't cope with BVB quick passing. It looked like you had all the time in the world on the ball and always had 3 options, whereas FCN had no composure on the ball and rarely threatened. They had a few early chances that they should have done better with, the first half BVB probably shaded but it was very even. 2nd half and BVB were much better. I have a soft spot for BVB anyway, so I didn't mind.

Have to say BVB brought more away fans than anyone else has this season. For a Friday night, and considering the distance to travel, I thought it was impressive.

When I left the stadium I couldnt feel my face or feet. When we got back to the car the temperature on the dashboard was -12C!

It's really not a myth, you are talking about Bayern, the most popular team. They are like Man Utd, wherever you go in Germany there's some one with a Bayern shirt on, especially in the south. Even then the cheapest season ticket for FCB is €120, but are difficult to get, but this ticket price covers 2 full curves on the lower tier at either end.
I paid €40 for my away ticket at Bayern, but that was the most expensive band in the away end (and the most I have paid to watch football in Germany, including the national team). Compare that to the cheapest ticket at Anfield these days. The chepest ticket for away supporters was €18 I think, but I didnt manage to get one.

My season ticket at Nuremberg, who finished 6th last season, cost me €230 for a seat. I bought this on the last day of season ticket sales, so the €140 standing tickets were already sold out.  There were still plenty of seats I could have chosen for the €230 price, so they were readily available.

You do seem to get a bigger discount with season tickets than in England.  The cost of my season ticket is the equivalent of paying for 10 games on the gate (€23 for my seat if you buy a single match ticket), meaning I get 7 free games. Again, compared to when I had a LFC season ticket, I used to get 1 game free. AND everyone gets free beer on the last game of the season.

First of all Bayern are the exception not the rule, but even so I would still love to pay that to watch the Bundesliga because it's at least something you can enjoy. I'd rather pay top money to watch Dortmund with 80k screaming people having the time of their lives than pay top money to do my homework at the Emirates.

Bayern 1-0 down away to Hamburg almost H/T.

EUR 30-50 at Schalke, EUR 25-80 at Dortmund, EUR 36-84 at Hamburg. Based on that I'm not sure Bayern are as unique as you're claiming they are, at least among the big clubs.

I had one of those EUR 120 STs at Bayern, by the way.

And ok, you had no trouble getting a relatively cheap ST at Nuremberg. But you can watch shit teams cheaply in England too - for a mere 30 quid you can go and see Everton. :)

Wow... what did you read? Nuremberg weren't even pretending to be in the game, unless they picked it up during the first 15 mins of the 2nd half which I missed. Was really surprised that BvB were looking to offload Barrios. I don't think he's world class, but he's a good player to have in a title chasing team. Apart from Lewandowski, who else is there up front?

And ok, you had no trouble getting a relatively cheap ST at Nuremberg. But you can watch shit teams cheaply in England too - for a mere 30 quid you can go and see Everton. :)

Mere £30? Thats about 3 times more expensive than my ticket at around €13 per game. Cheapest works out at €8 per game. The £30 is probably more equavilent to the €40 I had to pay away to Bayern. Bit of a difference, which was the most expensive cat. Obviuosly if you want to be a glory hunter you are going to pay more for the priveledge.
Also included with my dauerkarte is free public transport on matchdays until 3am the following morning in the region. So I can get the U-bahn to the match without any extra cost, go out on the piss and still get the UB for nichts home.

My fiancees mum has a season ticket for Rochdale in League 1. Her cost per game is higher than what I pay to watch Bundesliga.

Schalke start at €15! Dauerkarte start at €180.  Schalke has the entire lower curve behind the goal at this price and I think the other end may be the same.
Dortmund price start at €15 for stehplatz, dauerkarte €180. The entire Sόd stand is this price.  Dortmund fans boycotted the away game at Hamburg recently because they were being asked to pay €19 standing, €36 seating.
cheapest ticket at Anfield these days? £42/£45. Emirates? £51..etc. And also difficult to get these price tickets without a seasie or members card.
The huge savings are in dauerkarte prices. They may be difficult to get hold of, but they are available and it's not just a few 100 at this price, its thousands. They charge more for the central blocks on the half way line to make some back from day trippers and corps.

I also go to watch Greuther Fόrth, who are currently 3rd in B2, 3 points off the top. I can pay on the gate €10 to get in. (Sometimes I do buy in advance to get the free public transport) How many championship teams are under £10? For every game, not just a special or something. Especially the teams going for promotion? I've not checked but if West Ham and Brum are similar prices to last time I went there, yo are talking the best part of £50. (They have probably reduced prices for championship tho)

Did compare prices for a couple of clubs a bit ago... there isn't much of a difference in the high end, expensive tickets are fairly similar priced in the Bundesliga and Premier League. The difference is that in the PL, the spread of prices is much smaller - 'cheap' tickets are nearly the same as expensive tickets. For example at Anfield, the cheapest ticket for a Cat C in the Kop match is £39 and the most expensive for a Cat A match in the Main Stand is £48.

The Bundesliga has a much wider spread of prices, and cheap tickets often cost a fraction of the most expensive ones. That makes matches much more accessible for fans with less money or those that go regularly.
