Author Topic: No need to worry about Suarez - definitely not.... (Read 10178 times)

I agree to an extent and it's glad to see Kenny's old school approach of bringing in homegrown talent and kids from the academy, definately the way forward. To say we should have never of signed Suarez, well what english player could we get for 22m that his ability and raw talent, really love to know?

No those friendlies are just what the players need before the season starts. An extra game to improve sharpness and match fitness. More beneficial than playing a Copa America tournament in mid July.

Oh yea course, but Suarez playing 3 weeks beforehand is a different matter, I would rather him get injured 3 weeks before season in a tournament than 1 week before in a fricken friendly, oh yea, we have had downing and henderson mentioned when I said what english talent would you buy for 22m with the ability and talent of Suarez, well done so far a young unproven midfielder and a winger, do you know Suarez is a striker??

Honestly, I think the Kenny/Comolli partnership has failed. They keep signing these international players when they know fine well they will be absent for those shitty friendlies during the season. I say we go for Kevin Davies to fill in for Luis, he is unlikely to get another cap

He can play wide left also. For £22m they could have bought Henderson or Downing and had enough change for Conor Wickham. Or 3 Charlie Adam's!! Think about it 3 Adam's

Mentioned this as a possibility in a recent post - Meireles is our option for Adam, Henderson our option for Gerrard (inside right), and Aquilani our option for Suarez (supporting).

If we can cope wage-wise, I see no reason to worry about the squad size (and primarily the Raul/Aquilani question) - it's an asset that we've not had to boast for years.
