I hate Cairo, been living there since birth and to be honest the place just gets worse every year. It isn't bad when you visit it as a tourist but to live in it and for 21 years, it is brutal.

Any more ideas of places that I shouldn't go to?

Visiting Cairo is brutal enough, me and the bird went under armed guard... it's like a ludicrously dusty London with more tramps with less limbs. No offence like. London aint got the Pyramids though.

What happened that you and your bird went under armed guard? And London is no way comparable to Cairo IMO, at least it has a lot of green area. Don't see the fuss about the pyramids or any of the other "monuments" to be honest, never went to the museum and don't plan on going there any time soon.

Nothing happened, the tour guide had a gun? I honestly thought it was like London but covered in a thick brown dust and a lot more destitute folk. can't believe you never did the museum... it's fantastic and come on man... the Pyramids are a spectacle to behold!

As for Bangkok, I love it! In fact I love most cities in Thailand. It's an awesome country, and that's why im going again this year. Yes it's a bit dirty and yes it can be a bit seedy but you can find that place in most cities if you look hard enough.

Never been anywhere dodgy abroad, everywhere seems better than England. Might be different if you had to spend years there though.

BKK has it's problems, but id say the Thai government has it's priorities all wrong. Anyway there are dirtier cities than Bangkok. Try Pattaya.
