Yes, Juventus got their kit from Notts County. Bilbao got there's from Sunderland.

Bilbao are getting sponsorship from the Lord of the Rings franchise.  They'll be Athletic Bilbo henceforth.

As much as I can't stand City I hope they wipe the floor with Watford today as for one no one gives a fuck what these cheating fuckers win in fact if Liverpool can't win a particular trophy then I hope City do as it might just might start to grind on the media . Also the only ones who'll start to get pissed off with City winning everything is Utd supporters .
Usually I'm all on the underdogs on cup final day but after the behaviour of it seems most fans like Wolves last week then fuck em. I can take rivalry and not liking a club but some of the vitriol that has been poured on Liverpool on social media and at grounds because we dared to try to win the league and have got a good side now was disgusting and a lot of the times was nothing to do with football.
So as I say I hope City win today as like when Justin Gatlin won the world 100 meters in 2017 no one gave a fuck and that's how it will be today which will piss off City fans even more....
Same. And I hope they win the quadruple next season just to really teach everyone a lesson  :no

But still they ask...

But why? Why won't they admire us? Why won't they respect us? Look, we ave trophy...

They're no more admired than the artificial 'hare' which runs round a greyhound racing track. Yes, the 'hare' usually gets to the finish line first before any greyhound does. It's meant to, it's deliberately powered by a mechanism that those greyhounds don't possess, but it's the fastest dog that the punters are watching, not the hare. The punters know that the 'hare' is not a real animal, and City asking for respect is tantamount to the artificial hare asking for respect because it beat the chasing pack to the line.

Then imagine a dog...(in red)...which very nearly catches the hare on the line, leaving all of the other dogs standing, and tell me...what's the 'story' here ?

Is the story:

"Electronic hare seals another victory over greyhounds.."

Or is it:

"Greyhound a whisker away from catching electronic hare and tearing it a new arsehole.."

Actually, here's a detailed and well-researched twitter thread on Manchester City's owners and that Khaldoon guy and oppression in the UAE.  I'm genuinely surprised these people have time to run a football club. The club is literally an adjunct of the state.

Timbo's post bumped..

"I'm re-posting below some of the links to articles condemning the City/Abu Dhabi regime to which some earlier posters alerted us but which seem to have got less attention on here than perhaps they should have done, considering the depth of ill feeling towards the obscenity that is City and the regime behind them. I guess understandably folks just want to vent their spleen against City but the insight contained within some of these pieces is surely a 'must read' for anyone who does feel strongly about it all - which let's face it should constitute every single Red.

I've also linked Teflon John's earlier post in which he gave the links to the original Der Spiegel articles which thank God brought the City corruption into the sort of focus which UK media would never have had the will or integrity to instigate.

One really sinister and disturbing aspect is highlighted in at least one of the pieces. It concerns the fact that much of the aggressive media and social media denials and the protesting and pleading of innocence by City against any accusations be it the financial irregularities, the subsequent willful covering up of the same or even the truly pathetic and lamentable defence of the video of the players singing the vile and jealousy invoked re-wording of our own wonderful Allez, Allez, Allez song are all actually part of an orchestrated response co-ordinated by Abu-Dhabi to deflect and ultimately curtail any undermining of that regime and anything connected with it.

In this light I'll repeat a bit of an earlier post I did which drew the parallel with the Trump regime tactics which are alluded to in Kennedy 81's post linking the Football 365 article. I'd edited it from the original Trump ploy/tactic to suit the City situation but it's so revealing that City's representatives are doing exactly what it says on the Trump tin in rejecting allegations against them which any decent, sport loving, reasonably intelligent and right minded person knows to be absolutely true.

"First, they’ll deny that any offence was ever committed. Second, when confronted by evidence proving otherwise, they’ll denigrate whoever is making the allegation or mounting the criticism. And third, most troublingly, their supporters whether genuine or fakes planted by Abu Dhabi will take the lead of their club, chorusing the denials and/or instigating fake news accusations in an attempt to drown the allegations and any rebuttal of City's denials with conspiratorial rhetoric."

As all on this thread clearly know only too well, the entire thing stinks to high heaven and yet the lengths and expense to which Abu Dhabi is prepared to go to in order to protect their projects simply take the breath away.

Quote from: kennedy81 on Yesterday at 12:34:32 PM
The reason City were such an easy mark for Abu Dhabi, is because it was a fanbase that had been starved of success for years and riven with jealousy of their local rivals.
AD knew this would make them more likely to turn a blind eye to the human rights abuses and dodgy accounting, so long as they delivered them some silverware. Look at the reaction of City fans to the UEFA investigation as an example. It's blinkered beyond belief. You even have City fans defending the regime and putting their abhorrent views and methods down to 'cultural differences'.

Never mind the domination in football terms, one of the worst aspects of their ownership of City has been this introduction of Trump-esque toxicity to English football. Combine that with the tribal nature of football fandom, and you have a very nasty mix, that does the game no favours.

Maybe I'm deluded, but I'd like to think that if LFC was ever taken over by owners like that, there would be a much greater kickback and a prolonged campaign to get them out.

^ I think you're reading too much into it.

The thing is,City just don't matter. They aren't the story

Must be weird for Guardiola. Barca and Bayern were dominant clubs domestically with massive support. City are dominant without that support. So many empty seats in the City section at Wembley despite them laying on coaches for free.

What is this all about?  ???

https://mobile.twitter.com/Sammy_Goal/status/1129822398835023872

It was Rob Harris that asked him.

SEems he's been after an answer to that question for a while, and still hasn't got one:

I'd think the lack of denials is a loud and clear enough answer.

I'd also be amazed if he wasn't paid a shitton of money from Abu Dhabi while he was still coach of Bayern.

The state of the replies from City fans though. Complete denial.

I think I’ve had a drunken reply to one of mine from John Gywnne. Think he commentates in the darts and cricket doesn’t he? Game at last. :D

good to see journalists asking questions now the season is over. hopefully, a summer of digging into those stories...
We aren't walking through the storm now - we are the storm.
