Let's wait till an HD video goes up on youtube because that picture proves absolutely nothing. Actually, that pictures shows that they BOTH had feet in the air and that BOTH made dangerous challenges, luckily they hit the ball and no one was hurt.

Liverpool 4 - 0 Real Madrid, Liverpool 5 - 0 Aston Villa, Manchester United 1 - Liverpool 4.

With a team that cost less than Ronaldo. Give me a fucking break

Bottled our title charge with countless 0-0s at home though. Lacked imagination and balls at the crucial times.

Yes he did. He was also not against being pragmatic when it was warranted.

Did he have the funds of Mourinho though? No. When he got anywhere near his desired side (08/09) we obliterated teams like United and Madrid.

So don't give me that shit.

Pedro's header was after the red card and Messi blocked shot wasn't a clear cut chance.

Yes he did. He was also not against being pragmatic when it was warranted.

There is a difference between pragmatism and shithouse football.
Both sides acted like a gang of tarts and all but a couple of players can leave the field of play with any dignity.
But one side went to play football. And one went to defend like dogs and a couple Pepe being one of them went to kick the shit out of the opponents.

Barca play the best football in the world, they are a gang of tarts, but lovely to watch.
You are fucking blind to it, but Real Madrid, their manager, their players, are fucking vile.
Their football replicates it.
They were "found out" tonight. No lump in the middle of the park and the sainted Jose and co can't stop Barca.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

There doesn't need to be contact for it to be a foul if the ref things it was a dangerous challenge

Wasn't dangerous either. Both players going for the ball, happens numerous times in the game, but Alves pulled his leg back to make it seem like there was contact. Barca surrounding the ref probably got him sent off otherwise it would have been a yellow at worst.

There's being pragmatic and then there's trench warfare which happens to be Mourinho's specialty
from the land of ice and fire.

Ohh and the occasional bank collapse and finacial crisis.

With ONE striker compared to Mourinho's Higuain, Benzema, Adebayor and (up to a point) Ronaldo. With one natural winger in Albert Riera compared to the likes of Özil and Di Maria. Need I go on?

He has. More so than any other coach.
Nah. I still haven't seen any team, bar Utd for about 10 minutes, try what we did to them under Rafa. Yes it's a much better team now, but it would be interesting to see what would happen if a team shut out their space high up the pitch, IE pressing the back 4 and midfield, rather than trying to make it impossible to play through.

If Real really wanted to break Barca they could do a lot worse than hire Rafa under the kind of terms they gave Mourinho.

Fortunately the backlash after Mourinho will ensure that no coach will be given that kind of power again, and the ego driven exhibition football circus will continue for the forseeable.

That said I think you've made a lot of decent points and the stick you're getting for merely liking Real and thinking Mourinho has managerial skills even if he is a prick is ludicrous.

There is a difference between pragmatism and shithouse football.

Indeed. And when you are at home in a Champions League semi-final against your bitter rivals who you beat only a few days before, parking the bus is indeed a shithouse move. Especially when you have the 'second best player in the world' on the field.
