He'll be a huge failure at Chelsea.

The super egos there will eat him alive. Will be surprised if he lasts the season.

I happen to think he might end up doing very well. Hope you are right.

Nah - he'll do brilliantly, and we should be glad, because we're a juggernaut in the making and it's our patience (hopefully) that'll set us aside.

have heard a great deal about this guy...and would have been happy if he joined us post-Hodgson....until Kenny came along....

He could be very successful at Chelsea no doubt about it, but im glad he's going there and not somewhere like City, Arsenal, Man Utd, Spurs simply because of the way Chelsea conduct themselves.....( i.e Abramovich). Ancelotti had an awesome record before he joined them...still does....didnt stop him gettin the boot...

it is a bit of a risk for them...but honestly with the way we are progressing....not scared as much of what the other teams are doing. as long as we get our targets and continue from where we did last season (except the last two games   ;) )

There will always be twists like this, part of the challenge im sure Kenny and co are upto...

Be strange if he didn't give it at least one season in the CL with that Porto side of his.

Think it's the wrong move for him at this moment in time, but money talks I suppose. Got the potential to be a fantastic manager, curious to see whether or not he's allowed to rebuild at Chelsea, most of their top players are getting on, and I doubt their egos will allow them to be moved aside for young blood just yet.

Has the Chelsea thing been 100% confirmed that people are talking about it or is it just looking very likely?

Either way be a damn shame if he goes there. Think he can and very probably will do well, but it'll be a damned shame.

Didn't Mourinho warn him against a move to Italy at some point? I wonder if he'd recommend the Chelsea move or not.

Anyway its a shame as I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with Porto in Champions League. Might as well try and nick James Rodriguez while their without a manager  ;)

Indeed he was, as good a time as any to re-post this. No stone left unturned.

Apparently this is one of his scouting reports for Mourinho.

Insane amount of depth and detail. No wonder he's doing so well at Porto.

Okay, just had a check and there is nothing on Chelsea's site about any new manager. Doesn't mean it's not happening but at least it's not official yet. I really hope this doesn't happen.

I like the guy but at Porto the players and him were a unit. At Chelsea it gonna take him time to create a 'unit' mentality and the full trust of every single player -it won't happen overnight and the fact Ambramovich treats his manager with little respect and patience, won't help... I see him finder it harder than many expect IMO.

So what was all that talk about him loving Porto and wanting to take them to a CL-final, and not walking in Mou's footsteps?

Ah well, he's obviously a very good manager but the problem with Chelsea is not how good managers they've had it's their players and stupid (for sacking managers to left and right) owner.

No guarantees his open minded, attacking football will work at Chelsea and I don't see AVB building around Torres and the way Torres individually has looked he shouldn't. But maybe Torres is back next season to his real self....

I feel like there's been more drama in managers' 'transfers' this window than players.
Anyway I'm not too bothered since we have Kenny already.

Well it's a question of whether the guy can stand up to RA or not.  If he can turn around and tell Roman to stfu over his 'advice' on players, team selection and tactics or he'll fuck off and let the the Russian manage the team, then RA may back off and give him a season or two.

Fuck - gutted if he goes there. That doesn't mean that I don't love Kenny, not sure where that bizarre reasoning comes from. I just don't want one of our main rivals getting one of the best young managers in the world when we could have been looking at him depending on how long Kenny does stay.

Hopefully it's a year or two too early for him - he's still very young and inexperienced. What's even more likely is that the gang of c*nts that call themselves Chelsea players won't like it after he loses his first game and decide they want another new manager. Or Abramovich will interfere - fuck up their chances of the CL - and then blame/sack the manager.

Falcao and Hulk will follow him if he does indeed manage Chelsea. Villas Boas seems to have a bit of class about him as proved by dedicating the Europa eague win to Sir Bobby Robson

Was hoping they'd pick 'Arry instead.

That's the issue, he's clearly a very talented manager but he might not hit the ground running. Would Chelsea give him time to settle in?

He's also got a bigger task than Maureen. When Maureen took over Chelsea had already spent 12 months recruiting a fairly young squad which he galvanised and added too. Villa Boas will need time to rebuild the spine of the Chelsea side, will he be allowed to that or will players be purchased for him from above?

Makes sense, and if true is quite a scary thought. Hope they both have a dodgy first season and get the chop as I think if they build some stability then these two running the ship could make chelsea very very good for many years (boooo).
