Sorry, I think it's a bit more sinister than that. I suspect OBV invest their energy this way in order to promote themselves. In fact, I'll go further - their entire raison d'etre is self promotion and all the accrued benefits which go with a high profile.

Racism - otherwise you'd see them organising genuine campaigns against the likes of the BNP and EDL. I've not seen them on the streets facing down these thugs, that's been left to the genuine anti racist / anti nazi groups. They don't care that their behaviour damages the fight against the cancer that is racism.

Adverts on Spanish TV. They're a British based group. Call me cynical, but I suspect they're actively looking out for LFC in the media, and seeing where they can manufacture a racist angle.

LFC, they just spot a bandwagon and hop right on.

As long as they can milk it, they'll keep on and on at LFC, no matter what we do. Frankly, the only thing that can stop them in their tracks is organised opposition from genuine anti racist groups - only the genuine groups will have genuine grass roots support. Once they expose the racket the posturers are in a much weaker position.

This is absolutely preposterous. Reina is the object of the joke in the advert. His name, as they say, roughly means Queen in spanish and that's what the joke is on. I can't believe that anyone a) is calling that racist or b) inferring that Reina is himself in any way racist. Shit like this is so counter productive to the anti racism cause.

Yep they are UK based. So what they have in fact done is used us and an advertisement not broadcast in this country to try and bring themselves publicity. Thankfully this will die out soon enough but its a worry trend.

I would be upset if the club apologizes for something so completely trivial.

The newspapers can have their hits for the next couple of days, driven by ridiculous headlines. But we'd hope that people should quickly start asking what all the fuss is about. I can understand people not wanting to read 115 pages but I expect they'll watch a 20 second ad.

Just saw the ad (some of the others had me chuckling). It's corny, but the only person portrayed as gay was the leader, why on earth does the OBV assume that all the black actors are portraying gay people (the translator definitely seems uncomfortable with the forced marriage).

I think the OBV are a bit oversensitive to homosexuality, bordering on paranoid. Possibly homophobic or suppressed.

Oh and who brought up the term jungle, looks like a rain forest to me...
