Why? Krajncar is a talented player and is known to want out of Tottenham. He almost left during January.

He is shit mate. If he is not good enough for Spurs, he's not good enough for us. I don't want cast off's from other teams I consider inferior to us, simple as that.

Brad Jones been told that we don't need him, so he'll be off in the summer.
A few keepers have been watched lately, mainly back up type keepers by the looks...

Although I know we're interested in Lloris, maybe just incase Reina leaves.

I'm not saying Kranjcar is world class, but he's hardly shite and I'd much prefer him here and Cole for example going the other way.

Nope, he's said something much worse ...

My statement about Torres, that you are referring to, was an answer to the question: ''Would you take Torres back for £20 million in the summer ?" Both then and now, my answer is ''Yes'' ... And about the second part of your question, I hope you don't believe that Carroll and Suarez would start all 60+ matches for LFC next season ...

It's so incredible that people even have these flights of fancy... then I remember that Robbie Keane lived that very dream!!! Or was it a nightmare?!?

If Torres was ever offered back, it'd feel like eating a shit sandwich or a complete over priced joke (see Michael Owen and how Chelsea fans feel right now).

Makes sense.  Good to have our bases covered.  Imagine how screwed we'd have been if we hadn't immediately decided on Carroll to replace Torres...

He's hardly shit.

Granted; perhaps he is not “shit” so to speak, but he is certainly not good enough for Liverpool Football Club - and what we ultimately aspire to in the future. We don’t’ need him and we more than likely we don’t want him. Moreover, it’s an absolute waste of keystrokes to discuss him any further based on some shitty, shallow rumour.

We need to build a squad, just because old Arry has accumulated a whole number of midfielders and Kranjcar does not fit into his plans does make him shit or a cast off.

You mean, like when we bought Aldridge and Beardsley to replace the goals of the departing Rush, and then Rush came back one year later ? Now, that was one nasty situation for Kenny ...

Nice to see you're doing your bit for the thread!

That's a poor argument, isn't it? Considering he's not getting games due to Bale, Modric, and Van der Vaart. Not like they're poor players, is it? He was a great signing for Spurs last summer when they needed a bit of extra quality in the squad and he made an impressive contribution to them getting fourth, 6 goals and 6 assists in 24 appearances. He's seen much less time of it this season with the arrival of Van der Vaart and so he wants out.

On the flip side, where Spurs have good wide players and good creative midfielders, we're sorely lacking in both. He'd get much more game time here and be a very welcome addition to the squad if we can get him for a decent price. Not too old, 27 in August, quite versatile, creative, technically very good and no pushover physically, i don't see what's not to like... He'd stroll into our side on the left flank right now, wouldn't he? Of course he would.

Not that he'd be our only signing, we need more than one player to fix our lack of creativity.

bit confusing that one to be honest

if we don't 'need' him i presume it would be  because gulacsi and hansen are now both considered 'homegrown' as of next season, which i believe to be the case

why look at backups

is there any word of gulacsi going on loan to someone decent for a year

Kranjcar will be a very good addition IMO, we need to buy three midfield players, two out of Adam, Kranjcar & McCarthy and one out M'Vila or Sissoko. Basically two CMs and one DMs.

We need wingers as well, Young as a starter & Marveaux as a backup are good additions for a start but we need more than that, a good LB like Enrique maybe a CB (if not move Kelly as CB and make Flangan as a backup RB for Glen) and maybe sell Ngog and buy someone like Wicham and I think we'll be very good entering next season, maybe challenge for CL places and why not the league.

We'll have to sell the likes of Cole, Soto, Jovanovic, Maxi, Poulsen, Konschesky & Jones to balance the books and stay within the limit of registering 25 players.
Why do we need 3 midfielders

I think Kranjcar would be a great buy at the right price, it's just a case of whether Spurs would quote us a ridiculous fee.  He'd be a good creative option to have coming off the bench or filling in for any injuries out wide next season. The type of squad player with a bit of quality we could do with.

wouldn't mind nico here - would add some goals, he went to spurs for 1.5m, surprised we didn't go for him back then.
No way we would buy for 6-9m if it did happen.

Problem is he wants the move away from Spurs, cause he doesnt want to be squad player anymore. And he's not good enough for our starting XI to be honest. I'll think we'll see a huge statement from NESV. A player of  of Sanchez's calibre (35m) definately coming in.

Anybody outside of Germany familar with Marco Reus? The Youtube videos dont do him justice. He's brilliant with the ball. Not that many trickery, but driving towards the goal everytime he can, 21 years old. He has 6 goals and 8 assists so far this season, as a winger. He's really intelligent. Plus he would be available for a decent fee for his talent. His team will play 2nd division next season. He'll play in the national team soon. Snap him up or Bayern will do it. Doubt Kenny or Comolli are watching Bundesliga :/ some very good young (German) talents on the verge.

From watching him player in a couple of their last few games recently, I really hope we sign Ashley Young from Aston Villa. If we can get him at a reasonable price, baring in mind it's the last year of his contract in the summer, I think he'll fit into the team perfect. It's already a plus that he's Premier league proven and fits the quota for English players. I think a rejuvenated Young from moving to a bigger club would be the winger we've been looking for since Riera left. He'd be capable of forming a good understanding for link up play with Suarez as well as having the pace to run down the wing and plant it right on Carroll's head. Not forgetting his ability in set piece situations.

Because good players have never been benched?

He's been decent when he's played. Chips in with a few goals here and there and is a pretty creative player.

I disagree with you there mate, i think Gulacsi is more than good enough to be backup.
