After a poor start under Hodgson, Liverpool looked to be putting their problems behind them but defeat at Newcastle on Saturday night has prompted further speculation the former Fulham boss is set to leave Anfield.
Sky Bet have seen some strong backing for Hodgson to depart and consequently make him second favourite to be the next top-flight boss to go behind West Ham boss Avram Grant.
Sky Bet football odds compiler Joe Petyt said: "It's the second time this season we've seen money for Hodgson to go. He managed to turn results around slightly on the first occasion but he still remains firmly under pressure.
"With people taking prices as short as 2/1 it makes you wonder if there might be something in it this time."
Paddy Power make Hodgson 5/4 co-favourite with Grant (from 9/2).
Power also chopped the odds on Hodgson not to finish the season as Liverpool manager after a deluge of bets on Sunday evening as rumours gathered pace on internet fan pages and forums.
Hodgson was Even money not to last the season and is now 5/6.
Frank Rijkaard is Paddy Power's 3/1 favourite to be next Liverpool manager if and when Hodgson leaves.
Martin O'Neill and Guus Hiddink are second best at 5/1 and Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish is 13/2 for a return to the hotseat.
Paddy Power said: "The glory days at Fulham must seem a lifetime ago for Roy Hodgson, the bets have been coming thick and fast and would suggest that the Hodgson is skating on very thin ice."
