Nice. Thanks for the detailed answers, guys. Good work to all involved, it's all very much appreciated that you've worked so hard to make our views known. I can't do much directly since I'm a US red (did what i could through email campaigns, savelfc, and spreading the word not to buy official merch and stuff on FB though), so having you all to speak in a responsible and credible manner for us and be proactive on the local front is immense. SmithdownAndy, don't know how you did it exactly mate but very well done figuring out how to contact Henry. well done all.
I'd like to echo those thanking VdM, Smithdown Andy and Shanklyboy. Information is power and it's refreshing to see that 3 supporters have a direct line to the current owners to the club and that John Henry is happy to keep these lines of communication open. How rare is that in this day and age.
It's also good because usually we have to rely on the media to give us our information. This is often given to us with their own little spin or edited slightly under their "creative license" to do so. Granted the man could just be lying his face off but I just don't get that vibe at all. Given everything I've read about him he seems genuine so I'd allow him some space to work to see what he does. I do not like, for example how the media are spinning the "no promise not to load the club with debt" line recently. Given that it isn't legally binding to say it, why say it?
He has already said he sees the football club and the stadium as seperate assets. Therefore it's safe to assume the purchase of a new stadium (or any major refurbishment of Anfield) would happen using borrowing. That is a pretty normal course of action for any football club (or companies in general). However I can guarantee you if had given the media his promise of not loading the club with debt, any mortgage taken our for stadium contruction would then be used as a stick to beat him with.
So once again, thanks to you guys for arranging this.
