My view on hodgson is the same as it ever was. We paid off a much better manager to bring in someone not on the same level. That is no fault of Roy's but he isn't so stupid that he did not understand what he was taking on when he become Liverpool manager.

With that said though I am still want him to give the job his best shot. So far he has matched my initial expectations but he deserves a chance and we have had probably one of the toughest set of fixtures for our first 5 games.

He needs to stop being Mr Nice Guy for the press and stop being so negative about our chances. He also needs to make sure we achieve better than 7th position as that I believe is why we changed manager in the 1st place.

Wise move, let Whiskeynose stew in his own bile.

I do understand why he choose to take the high ground. But as everyone knew Fergie was chatting shite, he could've just said something in support of Nando.

I for one thinks it makes life harder when you call the world and his wife a twat and tell everyone to fuck off

Football is no different. Rafa's 'Facts' speech was all well and good and we all laughed, but we were top at the time and it brought uneccesary pressure and spotlight on us

I have no idea why saying West Brom were diificult to break down and we needed torres cant be said. It was the truth, people arent stupid and saying anything else makes you look a c*nt. Like Bacon face saying the best team lost when we beat them 1-4 at Old Trafford

I dunno but Id rather not have a c*nt for a manager if its all the same, which there is no outstanding proof that it isnt

I agree with your first sentence.

Rafa's fact speech was exactly that, facts  that everybody in football knew but wouldn't comment on for fear of upsetting Freguson As for it putting players under pressure and us losing our title challenge i cannot agree with. We pay our world class players world class wages to do what they do best, play football.

Are you inferring Rafa is/was a c*nt ?

I agree. Give him time. Things haven't been spectacular by any stretch of the imagination, but now the nightmare start is over, let's see how things go. We're doing the same as last year (results comparison wise) so far- now it's time to kick on and improve. If we're still getting a point a game in December- then we'll panic.

Is right mate.

I'm not liking the press statements either.

Roy's task was to instill some confidence and belief.  His negative comments do nothing of the sort.  We don't even have to talk about Shanks.  Look at what Mourinho does: hold your head up high and believe you're the best.  Chelsea had good players when they won the title back in 04-05, but it was the belief put into them by their manager more than anything else that won them the title.  We have good players - they have not become bad overnight - and Roy should be using the same philosophy rather than this "we were playing against a good team" bollocks that we hear after an inept defensive and offensive performance against the likes of Birmingham.

It's one thing to support the manager but the manager has got to earn some respect from the fans and, regardless of our performances, he's plainly compounding the situation with he press comments.

Have you seen his away form for the last 2 years? And what has he won with Fulham? Zilch. 1 UEFA cup final spot....and even that they lost.

Dude that is very very harsh. I dont want to say that but what did Benitez won the past 2 years.  Not even a final spot ! So dont be stupid please.

Lets fire him as well ... And lets hire somebody else... Lets see who won trophies last year:

1. Ancelotti
2. Ferguson

Which one do you want? I will take Roy thanks ..

sorry to say this but this guy is not Liverpool manager material. He probably is a decent guy but when you really look at has track record in the Premiership Blackburn and Fulham his record is not great at all. Really fear for us this season with this guy in charge he has a small club mentality.

I really don't care about his track record. I would have been happy if we had gotten an unkown manager as long as he showed fighting spirit and some fucking balls..

The defeatist attitude, playing down our chances, being happy with a point etc, and worse, making us play like shite.. Thats what I have a problem with.

Well that's a very difficult start over with.

I would like to hav 4 extra points, but i have to say i'm not suprised at what we have got. It was always going to be difficult. The football in the last 2 games is getting better. Miereles is a good signing, Poulson not so good. Konch will do. Apart from that its difficult to judge him on the start we were dealt.

Now we have a run of games where i think its fair to judge Roy. So from now until Everton i expect it to be like its been in europe, and if that means dropping some of the prem sluggers we have seen so far (carra that includes you) then so be it. Progress must be seen.

As regards to the way he deals with the media, it perhaps wont hurt for us to be viewed as a club in free fall for a while. They love to stick the boot in usually when we come up short even if realistically we had no chance anyway. They will give us no chnace this year, and say what a brilliant job roy has done if he gets 5th. No real ryhme or reason to it, but if they arent saying how shit our manager is when in actual fact he's donea good job, well that will be a welcome change and fine by me.

And as for the fergie thing. Roy is never going to win, what he did was conduct himself in the friendly old bloke persona that has worked for him for a while, and in the end that made Fergie look a c*nt, an ungracious winner to Roys perfectly mannered Looser. Once again fine by me.

Away Wins are now demanded, but its gettign better. I mean he must surely know how to fix the lack of heading ability in the CD. Dropp the poor headers and play the greek, and Agger, its just a question of how to do it with out the whole thing getting nasty. I also think that if he keeps geting the opportunity to play the shadow squad in Europe and the league cup, our actual Style may emerge, with players pushing in for prem places with the dissapointing lads being dropped. Think its a good way to implement change actually, basically run two different teams and gradually merge them into one.

The hoofing was less noticable yesterday, and despite what Alan smith (the utter c*nt) said i wasnt suprised at all that possesion was so even. We kept the ball reasonably well, we must keep trying to do so.

This is quite laughable from the bacon-faced one when you consider it's on the back of one of the worst displays of diving I've ever seen from that utter c*nt Nani.

That's what the likes of him, wenger and moureen do so that it deflects attention away from his players and their performances.

Good old Roy, has a lot to learn and imo is way out of his depth.

What did Ancellotti won for the past 3 years with AC Milan? Nothing ... Last trophy was the CL against us... He inherited an excellent team with Chelsea and he has of course made them better. At the moment of course he is better than Roy based on record....

All I am saying is give the guy a chance... What would you have done different this weekend? You would have gone to the media and called Fergie a c*nt? That will show how professional you are? Or have a rant like Rafa did and still lose? His team lost but was an improvement so he was straight and honest.. Why crucify him for it? He didnt lick ass but at the same time he cant really say much after his team lost right?

Give him a chance...

Forget Roy for a second, and let us just think of "The Manager" - whoever might have been appointed. They inherit a disillusioned, demoralised side that finished seventh and finished the campaign being unable to score aginst a dreadful Hull side. Yosser and Masch go, the owners pocket most of the proceeds and inferior replacements are all we can afford.Ther is no net transfer budget, and you will probably be replaced by new owners at some stage in the foreseeable future.

Not an easy scenario for ANY manager.

I support Roy. I have no idea wheher he will "succeed" ( whatever that means), he is not from the Euro Elite, because at the moment, neither are we.And at a time when all the focus should be on G&H there is nothing to be gained from mocking and belittling Roy- who do people want next? Phil Brown?

Yet another shocking RAWK thread. The forum is full of them.

Not being funny mate, but why is it a shocking thread? This is a topic that is beginning to grate for a number of people and rightly so in my opinion.

Roy over fergusson & Ancelotti is this some sort of joke?

Hey Lyndsey if you saw my below comment its not a joke. Of course Ancelotti and Ferguson are better at the moment. You dont know how Roy will do if he inherited Chelsea the way Ancelotti did.. Ancelotti didnt win anything with AC Milan for years.. He didnt even finish top 4 few years back...

Mr Alex Ferguson has been an excellent manager for ManU and we hate him because we are LFC. He will never manage LFC so I dont even know why bother... But some comments going back about we need a manager that won trophies last year and the 2 that won trophies are the 2 mentioned. So?

The past was amazing the future looks scary...

I still want him to do well but there's something missing. Yes anyone would have taken the LFC job, and the board prob thought "oh, he's manager of the year, lets get him" Is he out of his depth...i hope not

He's had fuck all money to play with and suspensions/unfit players haven't helped

Also not too pleased how he wants a more direct game from the back. I'd prefer the defence playing the ball out (Agger) rather than hoofing it
"You have to admire animals. Hamster spun round in a wheel three times bigger than him and abruptly lands on his back. Then just gets up and carries on as if nothing happened! If that was a human he'd be helicoptered to hospital, off work for 6 months have back issues for 20 years and then start legal proceedings against the wheels owner"

You sound surprised mate. 6 pages on the managers post match comments, while the club continues on its dysfunctional path. A lot of people claim the owners are the biggest issue but will gladly stick the knife into a new manager with an impossible job on his hands because they're still sulking over Rafa's departure, whose own comments often ranged from sleep inducing to downright odd. Not that it mattered.
If you can't trust Kenny, you need to find another club, seriously.
