I get that as well, it removes the installous apps when you sync with itunes.

Its odd becasue if you download the files on your pc and add them into itunes, they will sync to the phone.

have you selected the option in installous to sync with itunes or not?

Yep.

Also when trying to download apps, is Filedude not working for anyone else?

I cant help you with appsync because I have never seen that problem before. But your best using filedude when its evening in America. It gets a pounding during the day. Just keep trying or pay the $7.50 for the premium service

Yeah I try to use the other sites like mediafire. All you can do is keep trying and hoping that it will start.

Failing that just use apptrackr.org on your PC and download them onto your PC then sync them using itunes.

Once you've downloaded from Apptrackr how do you get them on your itunes? Just add file or import?

Just click and drag them into your iTunes library

sometimes the unlocks have to run constantly when they phone is on, some earlier unlocks did this as well but i thought it was a thing of the past

maybe it just didn't work 100%, also, why did you unlock it as you don't seem to need it :)

Have you set Installous to sync with itunes?  Have you clicked "transfer purchases" when the iphone is plugged into itunes?

I had that too before this latest jailbreak. Didn't find a fix. what i done was downloaded the apps on my pc and add them to itunes that way. Kind of reversed the process i suppose. Worked for me anyways.

Christ....climb out from your arse.

Wow. Thanks for that. Makes it all worthwhile

Maybe if Owens had started his question with 'I have installed AppSync for iOS 4.0 on my phone and have the most up to date version but itunes is still deleting my apps/games. Can you please help?' there would have been no need for the sarcasm.

Owens if it still isn't working try going into cydia and re-installing Appsync (Cydia, manage, packages, Appsync, modify, reinstall). If that doesn't work try uninstaling it (Cydia, manage, packages, Appsync, modify, remove), Do a hard reset (hold the home and power buttons together until the screen switches off, let go, then power the phone back up) then go into cydia then install it again.

If that doesn't work try uninstalling installous and appsync and install app sync before you install installous. Maybe installing installous before appsync isn't allowing appsync to work as it should

Sounds to me like you probably don't have 'transfer purchases' ticked when you sync.

I have put this on the first line of the first page but

WARNING!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR JAILBREAK ON YOUR IPHONE 4 DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PHONE TO FW 4.0.2!!!!!!!

You will lose your jailbreak if you update

If you are worried about this PDF exploit and the horror stories that go with it then follow the instructions here

For anyone who uses bite sms but does not like the pink lcon, this is what i have done.

I have just uninstalled winterboard for a bit.
Going to wait untill most of the themes are udpated before i use it again. I have just done the following to update the bite sms icon without using winterboard.

1. Download iFile.

2. go to /var/stash/Applications/MobileSMS.app

3. look for Icon-Small.png and icon.png, click edit and then the little arrow in the lower right, then --> copy

4. go to var/stash/Applications/biteSMS.app and select edit and then paste.

5. reboot/respring

All i have done is pasted the icon for the default sms app over the icon for the bite sms app.

Ideally you should have upgraded to 4.0.1 before Apple introduced 4.0.2. Essentially though, just follow the opening post of this topic.

I think he still can.

Now dont quote me on this but if you can find the 3GS version of the 4.0.1 firmware update file online (the ipsw file) then you should be able connect your phone to go to itunes and instead of clicking on restore you hold shift then click restore you should be able to browse to the file and update to 4.0.1 the jailbreak as usual.

But I'm not sure if this would work as I dont have a 3GS any more to try it
