Just in case anyone missed it yesterday.
If you've got no mates....send it to your enemies.

Is everyone emailing? Get on it. ;)

Title: Please help save Liverpool FC

*****

Dear fellow Red

I'm sending you this e-mail as part of a campaign. I'm sure you're already aware of the situation at the club, but not all Liverpool fans know the truth about what's happening at the club. We want to make people aware of the threat that Tom Hicks and George Gillett's ownership poses to Liverpool Football Club.

The idea? If all Liverpool fans know what's going on, we'll unite and draw on our combined strength. If we can do that, we can make a difference.

As a True Red, you can help by doing two simple things - it'll only take you a few seconds.

1. Spread the word! To do that, just forward this e-mail on to as many other Reds as you can.

2. Show your support! To do that, if you're on Facebook, join the Campaign site, click "SHARE", and set the image on this email as your profile picture: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/helpsaveliverpoolfc

Join that site and you'll be able to see what's happening on the campaign. Many 1,000s of your fellow Reds are already involved - they're spreading the word, they're making plans, and they're doing whatever they can to help get Liverpool Football Club back.

Forward this e-mail to as many Reds as you can. Even if you just send it to 1 other Red, you've already made a difference.

Liverpool FC Is Being Bled Dry - You Can Do Something About It.

Aight , the interactive bit is not that hard, im thinking to break down the 100 k number to hours and minutes, and should I just point the thing to saveliverpool page?

Having an increase show per second would be useful.

How would the linking work, could it be done such that if a person logs onto saveliverpool, the app will be shown, say in the top middle running, or do they have to click on anything to activate the app? It would be better if it was a permanent readily shown feature.

We could start with the simple stat counter above, and then see if it can be expanded to something like...

http://www.peterrussell.com/Odds/WorldClock.php

For accurate figures, ie what's the level of interest accrued so far in this financial year (which would be the starting point maybe of the counter, we'll check with ttnbd. Better still if he's browsing this thread.

Maybe we could show another counter linked to interest, showing the increase in debt due to the added interest.

Edit: It would be fantastic if we could get a running version of the counter, even a basic one by today on there. After the emailing efforts of the past few days, now's about the time a lof of people all over the world are checking out the site, as evidenced by the pattern of additions on there.

Doesn't seem to be a significant change; how many people are on RAWK, btw?
Would love the 19th more and more trophies; but would love even more to see a fan owned LFC.

Best throw out my cape then Roy. Spoil sport. ;)

I feel the campaign is getting to a stage or will soon be at a stage where you will have numbers on board who are now fully aware of the situation and are ready to act out.

What do you envisage the next stage to be here? Lets say you have ten thousand fully clued up angry (In the right way) Liverpool fans who's attention you have well and truly grabbed.

What are we going to do with that momentum because as I am sure you are aware apathy sets in prety quickly once people loose focus.

That's not a challange for an anwser by the way I just want to be able to tell my mates or whoever that we are gathering awareness amongst our support to create a ground swell against the owners and we are then going to....??? What????

Would be interested to here your take on above Roy?
From here on in its all FSG's doing. Good or bad they will stand or fall by the decisions they have made in the summer of 2012. Lets hope they have gotten it right.

Sorry Roy, my mistake,

Promoting it is then for the time being. I suppose it's just my nature to want to know where I am going when starting out on a journey so to speak.

I would like to think that you take my point about needing to be ready to take action when this campaign reaches its crest. It will be too late when this moment arrives imo.

The support is being drummed up at a steady rate and I hope I am not the only one who is thinking about what to do with this support once it's in place.

40,000 or so if I remember correctly.

If you don't think it's significant, then please help get others involved or make suggestions.

Please don't post "doesn't seem significant" and leave it at that, because it's like deflating - this is a team effort.

It's a long-term campaign - for as long as it takes, so every new person who subscribes is a result. Let's encourage each other and not get too despondant if things don't work first time out. We can tweak and refine and eventually we'll get a working formula.

And on action - plans are afoot and if you have ideas, please pm.

That's fair enough Roy. Im all for possitivity and I dont want to piss on anyones cornflakes.

If you say there are plans afoot for action then great. Understand that I am coming at this from the I dont want to see all this great material and genuine will amongst people to do something real go to waste. Something that will garner a media reaction and most importantly hit those two arseholes where it hurts.

You are bringing us to the edge of the red sea and some fuckers going to have to part it for us to make it to the promised land.

Some great stuff on here, well done to all involved. Unfortunately I am a bit talentless with things like this. Sent the e-mails, joined SOS and am gonna distribute leaflets in a few local pubs during world cup. (probably won't go down too well as I am based in manc.) if I can do anything else to help get rid of these two. Let me know.

Together we WILL make a difference

To be honest, I think it's had an impact. The Facebook page got over 1000 new members in 24 hours after the email campaign - about double the increase of the day before. And the Twitter account got 100 new members. It may just be me, but I've noticed that unless you're a celebrity, it's fairly difficult to get 10,000+ followers on Twitter, so I'd say we're making a good start.

royhendo

That's it - it's a start. I'd recommend reading 'The Tipping Point' on this one, because the more the momentum builds, the more it'll grow of its own accord. To do that we need the right channels of communication and the right 'mavens' and 'salesmen' to distribute it. We're getting those - Maddock, Rory Smith, Olly Kay, Well Red, SOS, the supporters' clubs... we'll chip away at it until it turns. The more quality content we can produce and the more fun and laughs we can spark, the better hte story for the media to run with.

Then, when the momentum's right, genuinely strong action becomes possible. We have good ideas that are going to happen soon - they just take a little planning and a lot of hard work. Baby steps dudes and gradually we'll do the distance.

I think we could use a crash course on Twitter. It seems one of those things where, if you get the right 'hubs' on side, then you can really amplify the message you want to get out there. Is that right?

Looking at this, they rank the 'most influential' on Twitter - we could brainstorm our 'most influential' I'm sure and try to get them on side.
http://informationarchitects.jp/c140/

So who are the most important red 'Tweeters'? Paul Tomkins and Oliver Kay are already on it according to El Rey. Who else?

Antoine from Empire of the Kop, who has 70,000+ 'followers' on Twitter.

I messaged him about it before, and he sent a tweet out asking people to join our Twitter and Facebook page, so hopefully that has an effect.

Just caught up. brilliant everyone.

When you go to war, first you have to dig the trenches, then figure out the enemy's weak spots, and only when everything is in place can you fire. The hardest thing for me has been to just dig the trenches and keep my powder dry.....like bleedsred and others, I have wanted to go kill em, know where we are going, but I see now, courtesy of Roy, that until we have enough people with us in the trenches, we'll not only waste our powder, but we'll alienate the very 'moderates' that we have to reach in order to make this successful in the long term.

The logo with a che hat is lovely, but it messages "revolution", and it was because of that vibe that SOS was marginalised by the moderates, imo.

I love the Independence Day idea, but it sounds like a lot of work and organising. If it could happen, we must call it a 'Parade' and not a "march". I think that if we want american press and coverage, doing a shadow independence day parade (and  fair?) might get some attention if done on 4th July, but as said above, it would have to be clearly NOT anti-american.....

Lastly, it seems that the most useful group to reach and persuade are the season ticket holders, and the waiting list names. How might we get such a list and not piss everyone off in the process? This maybe ties in with Vulmea's point about this campaign being difficult for non-facebook/twitter types ( ie most over 35 ).....I think the basic letter you send out Roy is excellent, but I see facebook and twitter and I switch off, and they are the only links offered.... so I wonder if there was a web page, maybe even a dedicated read only Rawk page, where people could go see what's happening that could be included on the letter?

On an irrelevance, nice to see Peter Russell getting a nod above. In 1982 I visited his house out in the country, and he had the first computer I had ever seen or even heard of. His book the Awakening Earth proposed the idea that the growing explosion of inter-connectedness on the earth was a direct mirror of how the human brain grows in the womb, which in the eighth month is mainly about the formation of millions of brain connections to allow for consciousness. He suggests that humanity is developing it's own 'global brain', the internet et al being the brain connections, and that obviously, once consciousness is arrived at, humanity can finally act consciously...ie. act collectively in our own self interest. Parallels  our own mission here.

It's been a clear intention from the start of this to include Reds from across the pond mate.
We are not anti-American in any way...just 2 of them.
However I think you are right and being aware of the effect of everything we do is vital.

Season ticket holders - let's go lo-fi.

We can do a 'guide to the ownership issues' type flyer (1 side with graphs that lay it out nicely) and a hard copy letter. If they agree, then they can forward the letter on to fellow season ticket holders. No? I agree - I fucking hate Facebook and Twitter for the most part. I've been getting grief off of guys I go and see Dundee United with regularly to the extent I've switched off my 'wall' and all that shite. But it's useful for communicating - you can see that. And if we can get in amongst these big Twitter hubs, we're on to something too.

Letters and old-fashioned methods still work don't they?

I like the idea of pictograms (simple red lines on white, or white lines on red) just because it translates well to stationery, footers and headers, and footnotes on posters and the like. What do you reckon logo wyse? I like the style of that for a Cuba-style poster mind Kit - looks great. I like the 'think' too.

And I like yours a lot aswell inq80. :D

And El Rey - cheers for the effort mate and people aren't having a go - just giving feedback dude. It's a nice effort and it'd be good to brainstorm this kind of thing - it throws off other ideas even if we discard the first go.
