Quality song last night, went on for ages and seemed to really pick up too. Had it stuck in my head when I was trying to get to sleep.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Hadn't heard this song before the West Ham game, but this is so catchty.

Hes class isnt he J

One thing I like about him, is.....if he gives the ball out wide...he still gives the wide player  an option.you watch the likes of Gerrard or Torres (after doing similar)and they just run towards the penalty area a lot of the time. And dont see when a move breaks down, cos theyre not focusing on whats going on... that then leaves the wide player isolated (yet still expect the cross) when dealing with 2 or more players

With Torres and Gerrard being our two furthest forward players, it's their job to hit the box, if they're out wide supporting, other than the winger on the opposite flank, who's gonna consistently be in the box? It's the job of the centre midfielders and fullbacks to support the wide players in our system I reckon, Torres and Gerrard need to be around the box as much as possible.

It's a very general thing to discuss anyway, where they're supposed to be depends on each game situation, for example, if Lucas and Yossi are already near the box, then the right 'decision' for that situation might be Torres providing a short option for Maxi. If he only sees Gerrard near the box, then the right 'decision' for Torres might be to lay it off quick to Maxi and get into the box quickly so that a potentially good cross is not wasted.

Wasn't even Ł1.5mil was it, I'm sure we got him for free on the basis that Maxi gave up his loyalty bonus from Atletico. Could be wrong though?

Great goal.  Aquilani set him up perfectly, and he took it perfectly.  He's coming into his own.  Like most of our players, he's best when we play with tempo and quick passing.

Made up for him with his goal. Apparently he was one of the failures of the season because he hadn't scored

I hope Maxi takes kuyt's place as a fixture in this team because from what I have seen these last few months he can provide just as much work rate and defense while being a major upgrade in terms of technical ability, quickness, and passing.

Every time he plays the right side is flowing and creates most of the chances. His interplay with every one is top class and that is the type of up tempo play we need to beat the teams who come to anfield and park the bus. Easily one of the best bargain buys of the last few years.

he plays football the old fashioned way.. passing the ball to feet, running into space, one touch control and comfortable on both feet..

if only he could do 100m in 10 secs..

Happy for him that he's got his goal, I was a little bit critical of him when he first game but in these 'easy' games he seems to be perfect for us. Bar Fulham at home.
