Heh, this was on QI t'other day, only one of the three they showed that I remember is why is Cholmondeley is pronounced Chumly? As far as I can recall from my etymology days it's due to we tend as speakers to change the pronunciation to be easier over time (see some old English words if you want to know what I mean!) and the spelling of such words follow suit, but presumably we can't change the names of places so only the pronunciation changes and gives us this weird dichotomy

It's certainly going to be tight, it's been a while since we won a game by a big margin, and the neutrals in this FA Cup blog on Liverpool vs Reading reckons that this isn't going to change. Given how important this is for us this season, I can't see us failing to come through. Benitez has always enjoyed knockout conditions!

Some of the squad numbers are curious and we have a fair few gaps in the 1 - 11 range too now, will be interesting to see which player wants/fights for which number.

If Degen is on the verge of a move, is it not a risk to play him? Especially as the game might involve him contacting things like: the ball, the ground, fresh air and other athletes?
